The Minneapolis Miracle deserves a deep rewind | Vikings-Saints 2017 Playoffs

  • You may remember exactly where you were when this moment happened, but do you remember everything that made it truly matter?
For many of us, the Minneapolis Miracle overshadowed so much from that 2017 season. The Vikings had been a bit of a confusing team, in part thanks to their own bad luck. They had been forced to cycle through quarterbacks in a way that made their season that year one of the biggest shocks in the league. To counter their surprising offense, New Orleans offered a possibly even more unexpected strong defense, made up by some young players we might before for the wrong reasons.
But, that's football for you. Big plays will dominate our opinions, our memories betray us, and rarely do we get to have the chance to watch something fresh for a second time. Welp, that's why we make Rewinder.

However, this all changed one night when he was coming home from an evening with friends during training camp. Keep in mind that he was kind of drunk.
It was dark outside, and Taylor couldn't find his key. Therefore, he was locked out of his house.
In Taylor's mind, the most logical solution was to... try and break into his own house by literally kicking his front door down.
It backfired tremendously, and Heinicke suffered a major gash on his foot. The Vikings put him on IR shortly after.

Celtic’s 18 year old Tony Watt’s second goal against Barcelona to seal one of the biggest upsets in Champions League history
Steven Gerrard’s screamer to win the FA Cup against West Ham
Nakamura last second free kick to win the SPL for Celtic the year their legend Tommy Burns died
Troy Deeney last kick of the game goal after a penalty save on the other end of the field to send Watford to the playoff final
I could list 100 more of these. There’s just so much material guys please.

One of the things that really added to the pain of this play, was just how poorly the Vikings ended up playing against the Eagles in the following week. They Basically showed up, confidently drove the ball down the field to score on their first possession, and then decided that was going to be it and called it a day.

The thing that really caught me off guard when I was watching the play was Joe buck. But, I still wish the Vikings didn’t get blown out the following week.

    • @AliceClow

Well, the Buck call is absolutely legendary. Especially as he’s not known for sounding that excited. I imagine they put this call in the vid instead because of the “Minneapolis Miracle” name-drop. Certainly caught me by surprise.

ALL that matters is that we had that moment. As a lifelong MN native i watched it live and will never forget it! One of the greatest moments in sports history.

I still think the LA Kings vs. NY Rangers SCF, game 5 2OT needs a rewind. There was so much chaos in that playoffs alone for both teams, the game 4 miracle(s) that forced a game 5, the almost-goal in OT that would've pushed it to six, LA's three-straight game 7's. I'd love to see what you guys do with that story

I remember I was having a late 17th birthday party on the day of this game so I couldn’t watch it but my dad was watching it on the tv in his room and at one point I got up to go check the score and I walk in just in time to see Diggs get the ball and I’m just standing there like “did that just actually happen?” Definitely one of the most absolute crazy plays I have ever seen and I’ll still remember walking in just barely in time to see it

Great vid my guy as a saints fan u made me remember everything else that went into this I had completely forgotten about the fact that Sean Payton decided to run it on that third down. I had also forgotten about the blocked punt and the 4&10 big play by brees. The one thing is ur trying to say the Vikings had a lot of heartbreak. Anyways, this is a great channel. Any nba or nfl rewinder u make I will watch.
