I feel Serral's run in this yrs Katowice showed that he is the goat. Beating Maru (his goat rival), beating Rouge (other "multi" world champ), beating Reynor (current world champ), all in the last 3 matchups! Beat the 3 biggest obstacles in his way to claiming the goat title.
And that late game he lost to Maru was just him allowing Maru to get to his final form... and couldnt beat it. Serral, not perfect, but still the goat!
When you put it in that context that 2nd world championship holds even more weight, respect to serral mate
For me Dark is the most innovative Zerg player ever, his understanding of Zerg units is on atomic level. You will never ever see Serral do Lurker hold fire or Broodlings chaining or Nydus Chipping.

Thanks man. My PC just started shutting off when I launch a game and I needed something to watch. I don't even play SC but I like to watch the games and giving info on who won previous tournaments and stuff really provides context to a casual viewer that makes the entirety of the video more enjoyable.
I'm only a little ways in and just felt like giving a shout-out for all the nuanced casting. And the humor, cheers from Texas.
Pig is my favourite solo caster. Following the separation of Tastosis, Pig along with a few other excellent casters, are keeping the SC2 torch alive and well.
Not gonna lie, I looked at the remaining time during that really long game and thought for sure that Serral would win that match then lose the next one.
I love that he finished it off with a good ol Zergling rush.
I’ve used my vipers to yank my ultras in the middle of armies and it tends to work like a dream and stops their derp

Serral is evolving his gameplay now. It's not just "macro macro macro macro late game smash you" style anymore. Guess he is being forced to with all the balance changes he himself brought about (and rogue cheesing him twenty times in a row in that 20 minute series).

who the hell throws their card at people? unless he is figuratively referring to flexing. Also, low-key the metal cards can straight up go through drywall and always end up sliding into places that are hard to retrieve.

Oh Neeb should've gotten the 3rd game. He was ahead and gave up his workers too early. Should've went for emptying as many minerals as possible so Serral can't get more resources.

I think Serral just needs to be careful with how many broodlord he makes with the very last of his gas bank. This is the 2nd time he almost lost cuz he just had too many broodlords vs too small of a ground army but barely won cuz of the remaining queens and infestor/viper.

I think in game 4 neeb was being too arrogant. That forward base on serrals side was basically, I can do what I want, and you can't stop me. Obviously it was meant to be a bait to make serral take inefficient trades, but it backfired.
I have one of those metal credit cards. I've never used it to flex on people (fuck that), but I have used it to break into my apartment building (landlord was taking forever to replace my key)

Neeb had that huge powerful army in game 3… and then does nothing with it. Flies back and forth on his own side of the map. Doesn’t pressure. Doesn’t force Serral to defend. Leaves his own bases wide open to get picked apart. Ridiculous. He deserved to lose.

Unless it's a Bo3, when you're 2-0 against Serral you're either fighting against the odds (Bo5) or you already lost (Bo7).

I think because they played this on their special interface for the event it doesn't have some of the gameheart stuff like workers killed popups. It does show player cameras on the minimap + has the battle report feature so there's a plus there. Would be great if we could just choose these tools when casting replays but unfortunately it's depends what mod the map was actually played on

I think the way to finish this for protos is to make 15 stargates and quickly chrono out just carriers and max out on carriers with detection and just full on attack. Include 3 prisims with templar, and 3 oracles and some observers.

I was so excited to see the protoss player win but then zerg just ling floods and takes the series. Bruh.
I feel like for the pros protoss has to work so hard for the wins and then its just two based stimmed marines and banling floods. Definitely takes the air out of the fun ballon from a viewers perspective.

Its not early zelot pressure if he already has a twilight and robo bay, come on man. That is very late for chargelot pressure. Your talking after 5 min. Early would be around 4:50.
NGL with skytoss toned down serral made late game zerg look pretty OP in that third match. Didn't seem like a fair fight at the end.

Honestly Serral is the finished finish, he didn't look good at all. he won a couple cheesy games. Neeb won this and most real SC players know this. I fear for Serral i think he is done.
