It’s so fricken amazing in Catalina!! My dad took me there when I was 16 and we had such an amazing time! It’s always been my dream to take my daughter there and I’m hoping for her 19th birthday I’ll get the chance!!
Been there many times i use to live. In san pedro and wilmington could see catalina in a distance hawaii is better. The ocean is cleaner warmer. Better food so relaxing it just costs more to get there

Catalina Island Company was offering a really great package where you could book all-inclusive activities with your stay. If you wanted to stay at a good hotel, do a lot of activities and dine, I'd recommend $750 to $1k for a 2-night stay. If you are looking for something more affordable, you could always visit for the day or find a deal to stay 1 night at one of the hotels. Hope this helps!

Hello, in terms of getting around the island were you mostly walking? Or was there a car rental or public transportation you used? My father really wants to visit with my mother but he's disabled and can't walk long distances.
Being local boaters for 20 years now....we prefer October -June . Two Harbors / The Isthmus Harbor, toward the "East End" of Catalina is the place to get away from it all!

No, we did not have time but we met several people who went scuba diving and said it's awesome!
Is Descanso beach free? Do we need any kind of reservation?
The beach itself is open without reservation and free; however, if you want a Cabana or lounge chair, those are for a fee.

It's not a dumb question! You will need cash to rent golf carts but most businesses are credit card friendly!

We mostly walked. They also rent golf carts which is fun. When we visited it was cash only for the golf carts.
