      Top tip, have her finance it in her name. If she leaves you stop making payments. Bike shop problem then.

    Stick with the Japanese brands for quality, reliability and resale value. GPX scooters fall by 40% in value when you ride out the door. ADV 160. NMax 155 or PCX 160 is the best choice.

      Maybe the scooter is intended as transport and not part of an investment portfolio
      Keep the thing for 5 years and depreciation in relation to purchase price isn't such an issue

    • @jbranche8024
      @jbranche8024 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a scooter under 100,000 baht. Who cares about resale. I'm not riding a bike I do not enjoy for 5 years or more just to get 5,000 baht more in resale.

    Hi Greg & Roy, Just my opinion as a retired motor mechanic also a motorcycle petrol head if I was you I would buy a Honda or Yamaha for reliability and resale. I know you have your heart set on the Chinese scooter with the ABS etc but it won’t last the distance. It’s the same here in Australia people buying Chinese cars at the moment they won’t be so have with all the gadgets when the get trade-in value on the next purchase. Also in Thailand look what the Thais drive Honda & Yamaha bikes because the car get repairs and parts anywhere in Thailand. Also the drive Toyota , Honda , Isuzu pickups and cars everywhere for the same reason. I am going to buy my little runaround in Thailand in November it will be Honda. As I said only my opinion good luck with the retirement Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul

      Hi Irish Paul, the video isn't finished yet. The bike weren't actually Chinese they were Thai, we were given the wrong information. I agree with what your saying but the brand gpx are sold by the Honda and Yamaha dealers. Stay tuned the video isn't over yet.

    • @jbranche8024

      They drive Honda, Toyota and Isuzu because they are manufactured in Thailand, are part of the Asean Free Trade Agreement, receive lucrative initial tax incentives and benefits, and are priced and financed the most aggressively besides just reliability.

      ขายต่อและประหยัดต้อง Hondaเท่านั้นครับพี่ชาย ส่วนนถยนต์กระบะผมแนะนำ Isuzuดีกว่า Toyotaจะเปราะไม่แข็งแรง

      Why is drum in rear deal breaker? My Aerox is ABS but drum rear, I almost never use the rear brake. Shop replaced the front disc pad for 300 baht in under 5 mins. There are many good, quality bikes. One nice option is keyless.

    Hi, I am moving to Pattaya in early/mid 2024 and fancy a Piaggio MP 400 hpe, allegedly they are available in Thailand but have not seen any in the dealerships around Pattaya. Any chance you could have a look around and point me in the right direction?

    I would have leaned him towards the ADV. better suspension, reliability, and resale value.

    If you want reliability then spend the extra money and get a Honda ( check out the mileage on some of the Honda scooter rentals , 45,000 km and still running strong ) how many Chinese made scooters do you see that even make it to 5000 km before being thrown in the dumpster

      The gpx drones are Thai and becoming very popular, and are supposed to be very strong. There are other Chinese brands available. Not sure if we will be looking at them. In the end I will take them through it but the final choice will be there's.

    Are you really going to buy a scooter without Ann driving it first? She should test drive any candidate bike with Roy on the back because that's how it's going to be driven. This way Roy and Ann can compare the power, brakes, suspension, comfort, etc. of any/all scooters under serious consideration and avoid buyer's remorse.

    • @aussieinthailand1965
      @aussieinthailand1965  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not doing anything other than showing options, I told them to stick to Japanese but the Chinese stuff is so cheap, it's totally up to them and Ann wants it to look retro, but Roy doesn't want to pay 140k and Yamaha filano are only 125, not much power. We will see how this plays out today.

    A true friend would have stopped this guy from buying a moterbike he plans on being the passenger on. How long has he been in thailand to already have a gf? Again a real friend would have school this guy a bit. Don't commit to nothing until at least a year has passed.
