Swahili is one of our languages .. that is how much we love Kenya , we are all African. I just wish some of my fellow South Africans would realize that too love from South Africa ❤
Baba Yetu is “Our Father” in Swahili ✝️. It’s the Lord’s Prayer in a completely different language and people group. Panta ta ethne, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” The Soweto Gospel Choir sounds amazing in the original song
This is the lyrics in English: Our Father, who art in Heaven. Amen! Our Father, Hallowed be thy name. Give us this day our daily bread, Forgive us of our trespasses, As we forgive others Who trespass against us Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one forever. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done On Earth as it is in Heaven. (Amen)
Christopher Tin is a master of polylingual music! He produced this song for the video game Civilization 4, won him a grammy as a result. This guy is the real deal, please check out more of his arraignments.
A song in Swahili, translated of a Christian prayer, composed by a Chinese-American for a Canadian game about the history of the world, being performed in South Africa (and many other places, there's even a Korean choir who does their own great version). It's a song destined to bring people together.
FYI...Kiswahili is as Kenyan as it gets. Lamu Kenya being the first Swahili settlement on the East African Coast!! The song was composed by Christopher Tin.
I go back and play this recording all the time but y'all nailed it - "I felt that, whatever he said - did...something about me understood it." That's what gets me every time!
Oh! Man! South Africans don't need no instruments. I mean it's built within them. This is brilliant! I love my country..love you guys how you react to our culture as a country🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As SAn I'm also stunned and amazingly glad for the language from so far sang in my country SA. Guys I can't catch up with words ,but I'm telling you I'm touched and very happy. 😢😢😊😊❤❤❤ loving the song struu God. ( swahili ? Wow thank you choir ). By outfit , it's KENYA 🇰🇪 luv 🇿🇦 .
I would like to suggest “Sabela” by the movie Sarafina.🙏🏻 When I talk about South Africa I’m immediately reminded about our history and the song remind us about what our youth when through during the apartheid for the freedom that we’re enjoying today. The song is About a black Detective who trade his people to satisfy the white and eventually the youth had enough of him. I truly believe that you’ll enjoy it🤞
I love Stellenbosch so much that I can give you their whole playlist to react to but if you are keen to explore their diverse sound (which I hope you are) because they make everything sound so good, I suggest checking out these songs: African songs: The Rainmaker Indodana Pata Pata Weeping (mix between African and English) English: Peter Go Ring Dem Bells Angel Joshua Never Enough Them showing they can do anything: The Destroyer (a song that uses forces of nature as a metaphor for human destruction) Beggong (it's an Indonesian Manggarai folk song) I hope you enjoy :)
Just to clarify, they are singing the Lords prayer❤. Baba yetu uliye mbinguni..Our Father who art in heaven ... its a set peace singing where choir members alternate the vocals, topped by the rythem and notes its amazing. Reminds me of Mombasa Polytechnic University college.. Hi George😊

I did not read all the comments yet. But for those who may not know. This song is called "baba yehtu". It is a version of the lords prayer (our father) sung in the swahili language spoken in parts of east africa. It is performed here by the Stellenbosch university choir. Stellenbosch is a town situated about 50 km outside of the Cape Town cbd in South Africa.
Awesomeness. The song says Baba yetu jina lako litukuzwe (Our Father, may Your name be praised) in Swahili. I am gonna look for the reaction form and request ''. Ukuthula" by Cape Town University ". This channel gives me life .
Have you all done a reaction to Zulu stick fighting Sotho vs Zulu, or any Zulu stick fighting I mean I feel those guys don't get nearly enough love and attention for their talent and bravery Ka tswe tawe

THis song was originally used ias the opening n the Civiization IV video game. It won a Grammy and is The Lords Prayer in Swahili.
Baba = Father. Yetu = Whethu = Our. Yep! The Lord's prayer. Our Father. The choir did a whole new number on it.
