Cyndi Lauper became a wrestling manager for Wendi Ritcher, in 1985 for the first Wrestlemania event Wendi took the title & won the championship & i remember Cyndi & Hulk Hogan together on few matches. Wrestling critics gives Cyndi credit for helping to raise popularity of the WWE & even MTV got on board. Cyndi was my favorite pop star of the 80's, great style, unique powerful voice & awesome entertainer. WWF skyrocketed her career when the radio felt she had "Too high pitch of a voice" for it to be a big single, fast forward after Wrestlemania 1, and she essentially became a trend setter for the 80s.
After a year or 2, she dropped the high pitch "Betty Bop" sound and started using her unique "4 Octave Range" and made Classics like "Time After Time, True Colors, and many others....
Has 3 out of the 4 major awards and is an Oscar away from having an "EGOT"...
Madonna came out at the same time, copied a lot of her style, and due to Madonna milking every ounce of publicity to remain relevant while Cyndi stayed true to herself;
Cyndi will always be underrated, while Madonna will be extremely "Overrated"

1. She has a GREAT voice. One of the the all time best in pop music. And she can still do it as she closes in on 70 years old.
2 She's a great song writer. She won the Tony for best origional score for Kinky Boots. She cowrote Time After Time, which has become a modern standard.
3. Her body of work is enormous. six pop albums, a best selling Blues album, an acoustic album, an EDM album, an album of standards, even a country album. About 14 in all, and all of them really work.
She's usually referred to as an "Eighties pop icon.". That doesn't even begin to cover it.
She's So Unusual from Cyndi Lauper, very successful album all around the world, great songs came out that became huge hits on the radio from her debut. Friend of mine from Canada was telling me when she came out with She's So Unusual it was huge . Some research i did that this album was the biggest 80's album by a female in the 80's in Canada until Whitney Houston in 1986 with her debut album took the #1 spot. Cyndi is fun to watch, love her hairdo's & how colorful she was back then. I'm a fan, she's great!

Cindy's involvement with professional wrestling is one of the strangest and most wonderful cross-promotions in pop culture history. None of us quite understood what the hell was going on at the time but it somehow worked. Both wrestling and Cindy's career exploded at the same time. She belongs in both the Rock and Roll and WWE Halls of Fame.

captn lou was in the music video for girls just wanna have fun... he played her dad.. and she was a part of Wrestlemania with captn lou... that is why she was so into the wrestling world.. It had a lot to do with her fame growing.
