    I laid down in my recliner for a nap. When I woke up, this video was playing! My husband and I are planning on moving to Panama in September of next year. Funny thing was that I wasn't watching any Panama vids. I have watched a few video and found them very informative. Especially the one about if you die in Panama.

    Hi Maggie, I'm moving from PA to FL with my son and his family. I am not a hot/humid weather girl in the least and I don't like 24/7 AC. when I come to Panama, my desire will be the cooler mountainous regions. Just to give you an idea, during Winter I don't sleep with heat on unless temps are well below 0 (grew up in Chicago), I slip on my socks/flannel PJs/robe ready when I awaken and turn on the heat long enough to take the chill off.
    Are there markets/activities/walkability in proximity to the area(s)? Oh, yeah, and is there primarily electricity?

    • @singlewomenretiringabroad
      @singlewomenretiringabroad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi... thanks for reaching out. Yes, the mountainous areas would be your best bet. .. areas such as Chiriqui province, El Valle de Anton and even Cerro Azul and surroundings. Yes, there is electricity although they do have occasional power outages, so a back-up generator is a good choice. Thanks for watching and good luck on your search.

      Good question! Thanks for reaching out. There are not many options in the city. There are a few options outside of the city and of course in the interior. You can let your realtor know and they can show what's available but you might need a car. It's possible if you're flexible on the location. I prefer to say in the city and some of my friends and I go by..."if it's your time, it's your time"..😀

    • @singlewomenretiringabroad
      @singlewomenretiringabroad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. There are several very good medical facilities in the city, one or two in David, the second largest city and some smaller communities like Chitre, has a couple of hospital. Medical insurance is a whole different animal and access is based on age. I will be posting a video (hopefully) about this very complicated topic soon.

    What do you think the lowest rent prices are for furnished apartments.

    • @singlewomenretiringabroad
      @singlewomenretiringabroad  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hola, it always depends on location, amenities and size. Rent is lower outside of the city $400-600/month. In the city, it depends on location, neighborhoods, amenities...ocean view or not. ..$800 up to 3-4K/month. Your budget and choice of location will dictate your rent prices. Thanks for writing. and for your comment.

    Do they require a certain income based on ability to rent at a certain price? For example, where I live I have to prove income that is 3times the rent. Also, do you know if a person can continue to get social security there? Thank you.

    • @singlewomenretiringabroad
      @singlewomenretiringabroad  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, thanks for writing. Panama only requires that you show a steady income of only $1000/month... can be from social security, pension or other source of steady income. You have to provide official documents to support that. For renting, landlords do not ask for proof of income. They do take a copy of your passport, so they might check with the embassy and check for negative records, I'm not sure, but they don't ask for a background check for example. You pay first and last rent. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. We're shooting for 2000 subscribers, so every subscription helps take us to our goal.

    Hi Maggie! I'm a new subscriber and thank you for all the info. What city do you live in, what are your total expenses and what income (amount) supports your living in Panama? I'm looking at moving for the next 4yrs to either somewhere in either Panama or Costa Rico. I'm hoping for an average of 75-95 degrees with no major earth-shattering tropical systems. I have no income. So I will need to create an income stream to support me. Suggestions would be great. Let's chat! Thank you so much.

    • @singlewomenretiringabroad
      @singlewomenretiringabroad  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hola... thanks for writing and thanks for subbing. You definitely will need an income stream to live here. There are different types of visas based on your age and income. One can live comfortably in the city for $2000-2500/month. In the interior, that amount may drop to around $1500/month...all depends on your lifestyle. Panama has a lot of different climates, so you get to pick where you'll be most comfortable. Good luck in your search.

    • @singlewomenretiringabroad
      @singlewomenretiringabroad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi...thanks for reaching out. Panama City has different price levels...depends on the neighborhood...remember...location, location. Prices vary form $750-2500 per month and up. There are a few areas outside of the city where you might find some single homes but I believe most run on gas. Your best bet would be to contact a realtor and let him/her know what you want and let them find something to your specifications.
