    Thank you for the reply.I will ride it some more this weekend and really put some miles on it. When I put the kit on I only went up the road and back and parked it but like I said I'll put some miles on it this weekend and C how it performs. Thanks for the help bud, take care.

    Our utility kit comes with 4-500rpm stall springs, roller weights, and a secondary spring. The competition stall kit comes with just wet clutch springs that stall out to about 8-1000rpm.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would install out sport utility clutch kit 27-28'' tires. Depending on the year and if it has EBS would determine what exact kit you would need for your model.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @2trx400ex2
    We would suggest going to the EPI economy clutch kit WE497030 which will change the wet clutch springs. This will give the machine more low end power and a faster throttle response. It will help to get the bigger tires moving. If you are always in the mud you can go to the competition stall kit which is WE497212 for the maximum low end through the clutches.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    That kit will really help your belt grip and also at the same time better response and backshifting.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is originally from Polaris silicone on the backside of the cover on the motor side and that may be leaking and not the cover seal that really is all I can think of if not wanting to use silicone or snorkels. You may want to use dialectic grease on all electrical connections to help with corrosion.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Most Yamaha's, Arctic Cat and Suzikis and Kymcos use a wet clutch system. You will have three clutches, the main two the belt runs through and then internal wet clutch. The little springs would go into your wet clutch. Also note that on many of our clutch kits we use a generic picture and parts may vary by model and year. IF you call us with your exact model we can tell you for sure what is in your kit. Thanks

    What would make a primary "snap" into disengagement with one spring, but not another spring. It moves effortlessly in and out when I have it taken apart, so nothing is sticking. The stronger spring is the one that does it. Weaker spring is smooth as butter

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can run with our Sport Utility Kit for 27-28" Tires. Top end should be the same as what you have now with better low end and mid range power, faster backshift and throttle response, and grip the belt better. You could also use our Mudder Kit which will give you even more low end power and torque but you will give up some top end. The best over all kit for 27-28" tires would be the Sport Utility kit.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Some times you will see the rpm spike up higher than usual. Also if the belt is worn it will be a little jerky on the engagement. If It dose start to com apart you might hear a slapping noise on the cover.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It will help you out the most. It will stall the bike about 8-1000rpm higher than where it is now.So it will help you the most off the line.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    We do not do a wet clutch delete. We take the stock components and dial them in a bit more for your particular rideing.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    there is a special puller to get the clutch off. It is a friction fit on the shaft some people have been able to get it off with out a puller from what they have told me. But I would suggest a puller to not wreak anything.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @2trx400ex2
    Our competition stall clutch kit is designed for ATV pulls, drag racing, or large mud tire racing. We wouldn't really recommend it for general trail riding, our sport utility kit is designed for all around trail riding.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would suggest our sport utility kit for 27-28'' tires. you will still keep your topend but gain bottom end response and better backshifting.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you are looking for all out performance i would go with the competioin stall kit should stall it out about 8-1000 rpm more than what it dose nowwill really help you off the bottom end.

    I've recently purchased a 2012 outlander EFI. It is new old stock. A leftover from last year. Never ridden. That being said, I purchased new tires. Same size as stock, more aggressive tread. Swamplites in 26x10x12's. Same measurements, twice as much tread. So far, she runs great. No slip. What should I be looking for, or listening for if I'm running into trouble? I've never owned a quad. I've been a dirtbike man for 40 years. Recent shoulder injuries have put me on four wheels instead of two.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would suggest going with our 27-28'' Sport Utility kit Should get you where you want to be but you will lose a bit off the top end with it.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would strongly recomend our mudder kit. That kit should get you to turn those thirty's in the mud.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The 500 should have a reverse over ride button on the handle bars that should correct that and will allow the motor to turn more RPM. With that large of a tire i would suggest a Clutch kit for your machine depending on what kind of riding you will be doing.

  • @hutchins36
    @hutchins36 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks, just pulled the clutch cover off and there is an oil pump assembly/passage ways behind the clutch are broken, but it looks like it can be replaced, but i cannot remove clutch it needs special tools.

  • @EPIperformance

    We have never tested for fuel economy when we are looking for performance. The fuel tank varies in size from year to model.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i would pull everything apart on the clutches and give them a good look over for parts that are woren like flat rollers and woren out buschings in the primary and tack dirty grease in the primary.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    We also have kits that will work better for the mountain rider as well. The backshifting will be much better for doing any type of climbing.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    They Range in price from $80 to $420 depending on what you have. If you check out our website you could look up your model and check the price for what you want.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would suggest our mudder kit for those tires to help out your bottom end.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes heat dose radiate into the tank. Location of the tank varies by model and year.

    You can purchase a kit online from us or at your local dealer. Yes the kit will improve your excelleration. Your top speed will stay about the same may be affected 1-3 (MPH).

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @2trx400ex2
    The economy clutch kit is the best all around for most people part #WE497030. The competition stall kit (WE497212) will have even a higher engagement for more low end power.

    Have an 08 big bear 400 5 speed and I put 30" silverbacks on it and it snt pull them in mud in 4x4 I noticed yall don't have a mudder kit for the big bear 400 even though it is on the mudder picture. But anyways how well would the competition stall kit do on it?

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you are looking for more bottom end and response and wouldn't mind taking a little bit off your top end speed then it would be fine.

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @pigslayers2359 If you went with our economy kit (WE497030) it would give you about a 4-500 rpm stall that would help you. Those tires are pretty light for there size so i dont think you would need our compitition stall kit that would stall it to about 7-1000 rpm.

    My new Can Am 650 will do 70+. I’m not interested in going that fast on a ATV. I’d like to trade top end for more bottom end. Would you think a company like Dalton to tell me what I need. I can do the work, considering how much I used to play with Snow Machines. I’d like to keep the engagement same or similar. I just like to tear around, pull trailers, plow etc. not crazy about submerging it

    • @EPIperformance
      @EPIperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The EPI kits will give you more low end and midrange power, with faster backshift and throttle response. Top end will normally stay the same, unless you have larger tires and then sometimes the top end speed will decrease a little. You can find out more on our website, www.epiperformance.com or call us 218-829-6036

  • @EPIperformance
    @EPIperformance  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @titans514jake
    Yes it will give you more power on the bottom end. Top end speed will stay the same but you will have more bottom end power to get up to it faster. And it will be more responsive when you are on and off the gas. The competition stall kit will give you the most performance and will be 700-1000 higher then stock, the economy kit will give you 300-500 higher then stock. Both are a noticeable improvement. For more tech help, you can also call us at 218-829-6036 M-F 8am-5pm CST.

    The Sport Utility kit is going to give you the most performance gains. It will help make up for the power loss you feel with the bigger tires. You will get better low end and mid range power, faster back shift and throttle response and it will grip the belt tighter so you have less slippage. The economy kit will only change enagement. With the Sport Utility kit it will tune all the clutches better.

  • @EPIperformance

      The best we would have for your machine is the Sport Utility Kit for 27-28" tires part number WE434002. It will help make up for the power loss of the larger tires by giving you better low end and midrange power, faster backshift and throttle response and will grip the belt better then stock. That kit number will fit the 2001-2005 and the 2011-2014 models.

    Awesome video! May I suggest a microphone to get rid of the echo?!
    I have a Polaris Sportsman 700 and am looking into one of your clutch kits. Someone recently replaced the clutch with a factory type, however there is a delay before engagement.
    Which kit would you suggest?

      I would call our tech line at 218-829-6036. It will depend on tire size, elevation and type of riding your doing. That way we can get the the correct kit for your individual type of rinding.

    I have a 2006 Polaris sportsman 800. I have 30in tires on 14in rims. They are the outlaws 2. What kind of a clutch kit do y’all recommend? I know they’re definitely heavy

      You would want to use the Mudder kit for those tires. It will give you more low end and midrange power to make up for the power loss of the heavier tires. Also with get fast backshift and throttle response and grip the belt better then stock. Part number for the Mudder kit is WE423800

      in most cases it is caused by your one way bearing being worn our or locked up. If the bearing is good then it can be caused by dirty and/or worn clutches that are sticking and not fully disengaging. Third cause can be the clutches are out of alignment, usually due to a broken or loose motor or transmission mount.

    Maybe they should have designed the belt clutch for all terrain , I thought that's what atv stood for?
