    When tightening that primary nut, ensure the belt isn’t resting down in the sheave or you won’t get the proper torque setting on it, the belt will be in the way and stop it. I always remove the belt, tighten it then reinstall the belt, just to be sure. Made the mistake once and learned!

    I just press down in the rear brake with my foot and the side cover usually clears it.

    One thing I’d like to add, when installing your primary, the cam plate when it’s fully seated will have splines still sticking out just a little bit. The washer that goes on ABSOLUTELY needs to sit on those splines. If you’re not careful, it can get pinched between the nut and splines and won’t be tightened down on the cam plate like it should. Cam plate and outer sheave should be placed on shaft as 1 unit, holding them together so that your weights don’t fall out or become cocked in their races.

    How did the old slugs come out? One thing I’ve never done is change the slugs.

      Factory set up there won’t be slugs just open holes

    Learned a lot from this. What did you torque the 22mm primary nut to? Or do you just crank it hard.

    Usually, I like keeping machines mostly stock. No clutching, tuners, or intakes. I just like to keep it best.

      @@atv_lifestyle once you start modding, you can't stop🤣🤣. Which is why I only do accessories. I think more about function, and since I'm someone who doesn't drag race a lot or do extreme mudding, so stock 700cc power is awesome. I bet that yours feels much better on the transmission and throttle now. Sometimes it's worth it and needed

    Don’t ever grease your outer collar with Tinkseal. It’s all going to end up on the belt and sheave faces.
    The engineer that designed Tinkseal would cringe seeing this.
    So much easier to drop the weights in the sheave, put the cam plate in and slide it on the collar while holding thumb pressure on the cam plate than messing with those weights falling out.

      It’s a small amount of TS but as that sheave closes it wiped all that excess off and it went somewhere.
      Tinken is adamant not to let that stuff ever touch a sheave face. Maybe overkill but once in contact it get in the pours. You don’t just get rid of it with braklean. It slick and remains slick. It’s designed to be slick even if it dries up which is why it works so good in the secondary but not so much for belt grip.
      Good video for beginners. A lot to be learned for someone who is taking their first stab at it. 👍

      I’m not a long way from Moab and Sand Hollow Utah. I love the rock crawling.
      I’m also very close to the San Juan Mtns (Alpine Loop) it’s extremely scenic but not much technical stuff.
      Not much mudding out here but clutching is similar to mudding so long as your on the therory not to delay wet clutch engagement but rather lock it right up.
      I was the first to find the right weights to drill and tap the shoes of the Rmax and install enough weight to overcome what was lost in drilling plus 8 extra grams. Yamaha discontinued the holes in the shoes on SXS after 2018.
      I ran across your video after just buying a new grizzly and I’m researching clutching.
      Tinken told me about Andrew Deal a couple years ago, in hopes that he’d start doing Rmax sheaves and was going to recommend me as a tester. That said, what I’m most curious about is, what your sheave ratio is with the AD sheave?

      @westernslopermax216 you know I’m not sure on that. I never really asked Andrew. I just told him to send me his best set up for the set up I was running. I’ve been very happy with it. It’s gotten rid of any bogging issues I had

    so this kit is more for mud riding not trail riding? new subscriber here. not sure what the problem is with there website .it keeps telling me to put in a valid email address.

      This set up is more for mud. If you reach out to Andrew and tell what you are looking for out of your machine he’ll get you set up. Install will be the same just different weights and spring
