    We had a few issues with this car engine running very rough it would also cut out engine light was on and the battery light was on we only got one code which was P0141
    Joiners in a walkthrough of a diagnostics to see exactly what happens we show some waveforms and how to check O2 sensors and charging systems
    For all enquiries regarding where to buy the tool from, please contact Hubitools directly on their FaceBook page or website

    I used to think all batteries with such low voltage were just scrap. A guy sold me his car. It had been sat around for over 6 months. He had it started by the AA. He drove 4 miles to my place and parked up. Went to restart it - again totally dead. Took it out and left it on the intelligent charger. Was coming up with just over 8v. Left it just to see if I could possibly get something out of it. By the next day the battery was at full charge. Kept it in the vehicle for 2 years and it never let me down once, even when parked for long periods. From then on I never go by the voltage.

    Great presentation Leon in presenting the diagnosis of the issues with this car. You would think the other shop go figure out that the battery was bad. Pretty nice waveform of the PWM on the heater circuit. Have a great day! 😀👍

    It amazes me that this car had been to another garage. I suppose it shows what kind of thing we’re up against in this game

    The code could head a tech in one direction and yet here we are in another direction only to return to the original direction. (ha ha) Thanks for the explanation of how you hooked up the sensor, plus showing us the known good signal. That helps us DIY guys a lot.

    The low voltage was the bias that the ecm uses to keep an eye on the circuit... yes?

    • @Diagnosedan
      @Diagnosedan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thomas EXOVCDS did you see how the PCM was still pulling the bias to ground!

    • @EXOVCDS
      @EXOVCDS 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      DiagnoseDan yes. I guess that's how it knows if it's an open or short to +. If voltage doesn't drop, it's a short to +. Maybe it keeps checking in hopes that things change. =)

    nice video Leon, thanks for share !!
    btw on that OPELs when rear O2 fail, does it appear on Fuel trims ??
    are they looking at both O2 for trims strategy ?? or just front ?

    Hey Leon . when you diagnos cars you sometimes use a power supply like HU34022 .
    I have a ctek mxs 7.0 battery charger with power supply 13.6 v 7 amp .
    Do you think it's enough to be used as a power source when i use e.g autocom?
    thanks for all nice videos

    • @bodgitandleggitgarage
      @bodgitandleggitgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate it all depends what you are doing some BMWs and Mercedes need 100 amps when you are programming so just depends what you are doing hard to say

      @@bodgitandleggitgarage i dont do any heavy stuff . just looking up fault codes . adaption of throttle control unit , egr . data list ,Electronic Parking Brake Service Mode e.g.

    • @bodgitandleggitgarage
      @bodgitandleggitgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@olecarlsson1145 you just have to be careful mate because a battery maintainer and a battery charger are two completely different things if your battery is anyways dodgy and you're trying to put too much charge it will just blow you should be ok with just simple stuff that you still have to be very careful make sure your battery is not getting hot

    • @olecarlsson1145
      @olecarlsson1145 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bodgitandleggitgarage That's why I'm unsure. My ctek is a smart charger. but I can change mode. to power supply 13.6 v 7amp. I have understood that I should not use that smart mode. That's why I thought if I could use it as a power source, so my car battery does not drain out when i use diagnostic tool like autocom . if not my ctek charger have the power supply mode I would never dare to use it . I'm looking for something that's safe to use .

      @@olecarlsson1145 all I can say to mate just be careful keep an eye on your battery make sure it's not getting too hot make sure you're not putting too much of a load on by doing bidirectional controls and you should be ok but you still need to make sure everything is correct and not getting too hot you even have to do that with the proper ones too

    Stupid big connectors on those O2 sensors on cars, the O2 sensors on my KTM are the same type of cars but the connector so small that they fit though the ring of a 22mm spanner.

    • @supergeekjay
      @supergeekjay 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The memory effect was for Ni-Cad batteries, which are extinct and were never suitable for high current drain applications like cars where your CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) is 600A and above. A dead lead-acid battery like this one is just simple cell degradation due to old age, simple science, not techy at all.
