    I remember one of my brothers having a white D100 back in the 80s. You always had to slam and check the passenger door to make sure it shut.
    One day my brother was taking dad to the local watering hole. My brother turned a corner, looked over, and dad was gone. Out the door he went!
    Dad was pissed, but luckily okay, other than a few scrapes and bruises lol.

    my dad had one like that, six cylinder, four speed.... I never took the hood off, just lay the hood back after springs undone, easy peasy unbolt out and back in running in say three hours by self and get faster as time when by. He would wait till motor was just jerk crawling and bring it in... I kept a spare engine, just keep redoing one you pull out. Not many lines or wires so just simple fix. He somehow managed to bend pushrods in everyone of them. I called it puke blue the factory light blue. I do believe when final day came, it had like seven or more hundred thousand miles on body. It always amazed him how clean under the hood was when he got it back each time. He hauled cable and oil drums, blocks an other tackle for the logging and it always started in coldest weather an had a great heater... easy heater core and just swap when did engine swap. I didn't care for them but truthfully it rode the best over the roads it traverst.

    First ran into one of these about 1963 when the owner of the ranch where I was working bought a 4x4 version with a 318ci and stick. Considering the rest of the junk we were running this was king. But the suspension was so frickn stiff that offroad it was like being in a clothes drier. I think you could buy the econo version for around $1800. Still like this version, wish I had one.

    I had a '63 330. It had a 225 I'm front of a three on the tree. It was my favorite car ever. When I lost it I had replaced the k frame with a v8 style and dropped in a poly. My goal was eventually to put in the 413 Max Wedge with the cross ram dual 4 barrels.

    • @MortskeRepair
      @MortskeRepair  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've always dug the looks of those 63/4 Mopar cars. Reminds me of the match class racers from back in the day and I think they all need to have a 413 or 426 engines in them! Those cross ram intakes are the COOLEST!! Thanks for watching and for the story!

    i had a d100 years ago. guy i bought it from lost brakes and smacked a cement church sign tryin to stop. i cut and folded the rear brake line and hammered it flat against the axle. was racing a buddy of mine after that and stomped it hard enough to unfold and lose all my fluid. went cruising through a red light that day no brakes 😬. i forget the year. it had the wash board hood, 318w.

    That's really got potential! Wheels look just right. That seat looks lovely and comfy. Borywork could be better, could be a helluva lot worse! It's a year older than me, after all. What's the frame like?

    • @MortskeRepair
      @MortskeRepair  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, it's a great daily driver for me. I wish it was a little lower but not much I can do with the stance unless I change the front suspension out and it works too good just the way it is. The frame is super solid! Thanks for watching!

    EASY to put the mounts in with engine installed, just remove the two dozen or so bolts that hold the Dodge truck "dog house" to the floor. Well, I can't remember exactly, I was trying to change a clutch so that probably is not going to open op the cab enough to lift the bell housing off the mounts. I just remember thinking it was kinda weird that dodge put that in there.

    Oh yeah, Slant six.....bullet proof.....no speed but tons of torque. Here's a bit of trivia: The S.A.E. determined that the slant six intake manifold had the most volumetric-equal distribution across all 6 cylinders compared to all other 6 cylinder engines of its time. Wish Chrysler still made them instead of switching to Mitsubishi V6.
