BECAUSE OF YOU...I grabbed the Viltrox 56mm 1.4, the 33mm 1.4, & the 23mm 1.4 for my Z50 (used mostly for video, but seeing this... that's gonna change). So when wifey knocks on y'all's door, you know she's blaming you for my spending habits! 🫣 The Viltrox's perform great on the little Z's and of course, your video (& model) is again magical! 💪
@@XYZ-qb5gc Don't get brainwash by all those youtuber and their " oh no it doesn't have IBIS ! ", when it comes to photo IBIS is nearly useless since as long you shoot with enough shutter speed your photo will be sharp, and with somes 1.4 lenses you'll easily get fast shutter speed ( and most of the longer lenses have VR on them to help ). IBIS only really help in low light when shooting non moving subject since any moving subject will make them blurred if you don't have a fast enough shutter speed. IBIS is mostly usefull for video and most modern cameras have electronic stabilization at least, not as great as IBIS but good enough if you don't shake the camera too much ( and you have software like davinci resolve that can add some stabilization in post is needed... or you can grab a gimbal too, it's even better even if annoying since it's more stuff to get with you and you need to balanced your camera on it but the stab is really impressive and you can do some neat motionlaspe with them :)
@@XYZ-qb5gc I use my DJI Ronin S when I absolutely need stabilized video. Easily handles the Z50 and any of my D780 and lens combo's. Super cheap these days with a ton of payload capacity.

Since the Z 30 is marketed to vlogers. There is very litttle information on it's photography capability So thank you for posting. This is very helpful in making a decision as to rather or not I get a Z 30 which I can afford or something that I can't just because it has a vewfinder.
There is alot info on "z30" photography capability. If you look for z50 reviews on photography its the same as z30. Z30 is the z50 without the viewfinder. I had z50 it was incredible for photography. With right lenses and lighting you are gonna make magical photos :)).

I appreciate your content. I shoot Nikon for our real estate photography business and primarily use a Z6 with a 14-30mm zoom. I wanted something smaller to carry around since I always have a camera with me. I was on vacation a year-and-a-half ago and picked up a Z30. I absolutely LOVE this camera. Its' low-light ability is seriously exceptional. Video is great, even in low-light, with 1.8 lenses. I had contemplated a small SONY as we use the FX30 for our video work, but, the Z30 does a great job when wandering around, or on vacation. A great camera. And man, that Nikon color science! Keep up the good work with the channel.
I'm trying to tell ya'll the z50 a.k.a (special sauce) has some magic dust sprinkled on it. The z30 has same sensor or slightly tweaked but nonetheless what I found is that when you put pro glass on these cameras the results are stunning!!! I have the z50 and the Z 24-70 |2.8 s which is a (36-105mm) full frame equivalent. I Shot a weddiinig with this combo and the couple was VERY pleased with the results. I don't even shoot weddings but again the straight out of camera results are sweet af. I would love to see z30/ z50 with the z24-70mm|2.8s photoshoot. Make it happen ike!
I wanted an upgrade for my Nikon, something where I didn't have to carry a lot of gear, but didn't want to break the bank....so I bought my Z30 after watching your video. I do photography for musicians/bands/etc....as well has concert photography/videos. The Z30, to me, does both jobs perfectly. Loved this video. Z30 Vs Z50 Definitely an impressive demonstration, the APS-C is alive and kicking!!! It really demos that the camera is only part of making a good photo. In general the Z30 is "younger" has a fully articulated screen, so i will pick it up, but: For Still photography, on a full sunny day can the screen display the image/ info? How do like to shoot stills with viewfinder or LCD screen?

great shots , I was planning on getting the 24mm for my z30 since the 23mm is not available at our local store, would say that the 24mm is not too tigtht(36mm in fx terms ) for portraits ? currently using an old sigma 30mm dc art with a viltrox adaptor (, I find it too tight if u consider the crop factor plus the distance the adaptor adds )

I have the Viltrox 56 for my Fuji X-T1. Nice to see Viltrox produces the sharpest images EVER on every camera model. Very very excellent work. Makes me wanna pick up the Z30. Do you like it for talking head video work?
Understood. Well I don’t suspect you plan on learning video at the same time while you’re out doing a photo shoot. So you can only do one at a time. So you might as well take the time to learn on your camera that already shoots video. And then once you figure it out. You can then go out and buy another Z6 for video. Lol
I'm a motorcycle traveller. And I do a bit of street photography. I wanted to buy the Zfc mainly owing to the small size and of course the looks. But the lack of good apsc lenses (a faster 10-20 f2.8, 28,35,50 ff equivalent small primes), 4k60 and IBIS has stopped me. Hopefully the next iteration will add 4k60 and IBIS and Tamron and Viltrox come up with small primes. (The current viltrox options are f1.4 and slightly larger than what I would want)

In the specification we see flash sync speed is 1/200 Second for Z30 but I see you have gone almost beyong 1/1250, I am looking for the clarification if Z30 allows us to go beyond 1/200 ss with flash, the dark line should not appear (where hss is not supported)
I’m getting a static noise from the internal mic. It’s recording the noise that happens in the camera when it’s on in shooting mode. It’s quite noticeable. Have you noticed this and if you listen close to the Z30 in shooting mode do you hear the static type sound? Other than that I’m very pleased with the quality of Z30. Your photos looked very good indeed👍 What settings do you use?
No I haven’t noticed that issue. But I also record in ambient environments. So there is alway some kind of ambient noise that cancels out any static that I might hear if there is any 🤷🏾♂️.

Image stabilisation is not available on the z 30 and viltrox lenses. Would it have an effect on the output?

Yeah it takes great images. But not have it a viewfinder can feel awkward (at least for me) at times. But it’s a solid piece of gear!

I was filming the intro on the Z30 vlog style. Then I switched to the Z9 to film me shooting photos with the Z30.

The Z30 does allow for HSS. You just have to know which setting to change. If you own a Z30 and are curious I can help.
