I think it's an interesting bit of consistency that in the early game Makoto can't do much to help with those thugs, but later on in social links like this or Nozomi Suemitsu's he can stand up to dudes just fine.

That's true. It's different in the anime where it has him throwdown with the gangsters during the investigation with Yukari and Junpei (before Shinji arrives)
@@SA_Vengarr Not only fighting demons, but summoning the persona tires you too. So it's like training in a gravity chamber with high risk of death. Those thugs are nothing.

Akihiko must have gotten a whole lot better at boxing too. If he was invincible with his 15 win streak, then he must have been world champion level by the end of the game.
i think people in these comments aren’t realizing how the social links work. a lot of the interactions best outcomes are what the other person wants to hear, not what they need to hear or what you want to tell them (think kenji, encouraging him to pursue a married adult will bet the most points). for the im sorry choice, it’s more of her needing to hear something that calms her down in that moment. being told advice immediately after that situation is not a good choice

That's exactly what i noticed by doing kenji's social link. I didn't agree with his choices at all, but after a while, i realized it was really just saying "tell him what he wants to hear", which i don't particularly like. If much prefer "tell them what they need to hear," honestly
It's more reasonable here, nobody wants to listen to some preaching asshole after almost getting assaulted. It's really not the same thing as enabling Kenji or Kaz.
@@xmant8842 That's the only thing I don't like about the Social Link system in Persona. Unless I am straight up a dick, I don't want to get punished for saying what I want to say. But if you don't use the most effective route, you have to waste several days doing nothing, seeing less of the game.

Which I do feel was a good decision, since the original felt too extra at points, while here that sound a little more toned down.

I'm somewhat displeased by the general waifufication of most of the girls in the remake. I mean it ain't awful or anything, I'm not trying to be one of those Twitter using addicts that call everything sexist. But in the original I believe u get the option to hug her after this which will reverse the s link. But in the remake u don't even get any reverse options here I believe. I think the scene on the beach showcases this issue the best as it too was WAY more aggressive in the original.
Also before someone gets the wrong idea, if u witness somebody before beat the shit out of 3 people, right infront of u, and then u very reasonably ask what the hell they just did, then they proceed to randomly hug u! (Especially in japan since hugging is a very implicit act in that culture, basically only meant for couples) Dont u think that would be rather upsetting too?
I think they overall toned down a lot of the aggressive side of characters. Junpei was the most notable for me, almost all his link episodes involve him saying "sorry for being a dick" and the moments themselves where he acts annoyed felt really short.
Negative points are just makes players mad.
It does reverse the link if you say it's because she's a girl

I really don't like the dub for this. I know some people don't like her yelling but that's what made her sound real to me. Sometimes people lash out unexpectedly in stressful situations. Also, it doesn't matter if you don't want to respond with "I'm sorry." The point of the Lovers Arcana is that you succumb to an UNCONDITIONAL relationship.

No there her Anger made even less Sense. And she didnt even apologize even tough Makoto helped her out. She maybe capable of a lot of Things by herself. But three Guys gang up on you is dangerous no matter who you are. And seeing how those kind of Things happen in my Country you can still say its better for a Girl to have someone with you. Even if he cant defend the Girl he can buy Time that she can run away. The worst is a Beatdown for the Guy or he is able to defend himself for a bit until help comes. But for Women that kind of Thing is more dangerous in more despicable Ways some of those Gangs could come up with.

Remember she believes being independent means not needing to rely on other people to show how strong she is. She got a reality check and her worldview got shattered and made her a bit irrational. After calming down a bit she does say it was wrong for her to react like that and she does greatly appreciate his help. Also that's the turning point when their relationship leans into becoming more romantic, because she finally found someone she can fully open up to.
