Snow Diego? Jaycation visits Julian, the closest town in the mountains that is high enough in regular elevation to get snow! We visit Julian's Main Street and try their famous apple pie and various apple products.
Julian is famous for it's apple picking and the old Eagle Mining Company Gold Mine. If you want to spend a day trip up here it's less than an hour drive from most parts of San Diego!
We also try the famous Miner's Diner for their Bison Burger!

Moved to San Diego September of 2019 and havent really had a chance to explore San Diego because of work and Covid. Cant wait to visit all these places with friends after pandemic.

Nice video. You should have gone to Julian Station and Wynola Pizza (Red Barn). They have live music normally and should again when the pandemic slows down.
I grew up for most of my early childhood in this wonderful small town, and only moved last year. But I still yearn almost every day to go back to Julian soon!
Edit: If anyone is ever in town, go to Julian Beer Company. They have some of the best pizza I've ever had!
My family would always go up there on Christmas eve for the cider and for the mountainey Christmas vibes

One of my favorite places in Julian is right off of Main Street...Blue Door Winery...great Sangria. Always my first stop when in Julian 🍷

I’m on the naval base in San Diego and saw Jullian this weekend. Sadly it was night when I went through but at night the city looked so mysterious and enchanting. I loved it and definitely plan to go again during the day this weekend.
If you go to Julian during the week, you'll notice more the people hiking the Pacific Crest Trail who stop in the city for supplies or just to stay at the hotel. My friends were staying at the Julian Gold Rush Hotel and we got to talk to a few of them.

Also, Seaport Village each beach individually. Ocean beach, PB, Mission, La Jolla, DelMar, Solana/Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside. With the beach itself and the shops and restaurants near them.
nice! I did each beachtown individual last summer. Seaport will be included in my next video but i have a couple that i filmed a few years back.

GREAT VIDEO!!!! I LOVE JULIAN!!!!! The last time I went, I was married. We went into many shops off of Main Street. We had an awesome lunch at Baileys BBQ !!!! They have so many activities for the family. Please check out their website. I love Julian for what it is, not what is not. When the storm is completely over, I want to visit and enjoy the weekend there. Thanks for letting me share.

La Jolla Shores beach of choice for a while. The aquarium was just a little spot and free. Went to cool off! Also the zoo was free to 16 and under!🙋♀️

Ah, Julian! Used camp at nearby William Heise County Park when it was just the small caravan area, before it was expanded into what it is today. The Julian Cafe was the place to get pies back in those days. Making me homesick for the childhood days!
The chicken pot pie at the Julian Cafe is so good! My husband and I share the order, too.
@@L.Spencer San Diego is a long drive away for me. I would want to tow my trailer and camp. That's how I like to go. The cost of fuel is about the same as getting a motel room, plus I think i can stay closer to Julian when camping. Haven't been down there in many years.

Used to camp in Borrego alot. Cuyamaca has or had a little falls where we would slide down the rocks into a pool of water. Fun days.
only went to Cuyamaca once... horrible time as a kid haha probably why i dont like camping.

thanks for the video jay! i'll be traveling from florida to sd for a wedding in a few weeks but only for 5 days, short trip. day after the wedding my tita is having family party in temecula(my hotel is in scripps/poway). i was looking for a quick side quest on the way to temecula and maybe julian can be it, i know its technically not "on the way" to temecula, but its something different considering i'll be hitting up the big stuff earlier on in the trip (sd zoo/la jolla etc)

At some point you should check out borrego springs
if you’re going to go to julian, I would suggest going to all of the places that sell alcohol even if you don’t like alcohol, there is something for everyone and there is always tasters where you don’t buy a full glass but you buy a small kind of like a shot just to try it and also never get Mom‘s pies. They’re overrated, and the lines are way longer than Julian pies.
