If when trying to launch the game, you get an error along the lines of "Windows couldn't find the file c:\program", then you likely forgot to surround the launch options with quotation marks. Smapi doesn't do this for you automatically, and this video tutorial doesn't show quotes either. It may be common sense, but as someone who never mods, it gave me a 20 minute headache, so I wanted to leave a comment in case I wasn't the only one who ran into this issue. Thank you for the tutorial though!! This was extremely helpful and easy to follow :-)
Two things of note if I may. Firstly, the SMAPI program also writes things in purple if a mod is updateable. Updates are not required to my knowledge, but the SMAPI program will continue to notify you until it is updated. Another is if you are on the Windows 11 OS, Win-rar is not required to extract folders.

I know this was 4 months ago but i'm confused and couldnt find an answer so i wanted to ask if i have to update smapi do i go through the whole process of downloading smapi and getting the link again? if you know how to update Smapi without breaking anything pls tell me!! I would be really thankful if you could help me with this
As a helpful tip that I use, if you plan on adding a lot of mods to your stardew game or any other game, you can pin the mods folder to quick access, so when you download a zip file you can open and move the contents right to the quick access shortcut.
I'm lost. I've never modded before, and this video was pleasant and easy to follow. I did EVERYTHING. Every single step. Then I back-tracked, checked my work, even uninstalling everything and starting over. I open the game and nothing has changed...

I really have got to give you props. I am the opposite of tech savvy and you broke down the steps easy enough for me that I could actually download SVE !!! I tried to follow a tutorial back in December of last year and couldn’t get it to work so I gave up, thought I’d give it another try to see if I could figure it out and your video did the trick!! I downloaded my mods and couldn’t figure out why they weren’t working(I used nexus’s mod manager). Apparently all I needed to do was download smappi manually then follow the steps to get it set up. Thank you so much for this!
The amount of mods I had to download to get to downloading Stardew Valley Expanded was more than I thought there would be. I appreciate Cursed Forge a lot for all the other games I use it for.

I highly recommend that you should make a video on how to mod with mobile as android users are stuck in update purgatory for about 2 years now, and are probably looking for new content so they don't get bored of the game
@@Devilicious. there are tons of guides on how to mod on Android. Basically, the mods on pc work the same with mobile as long as they have the same version which in this case is version 1.4.5

I wish ConcernedApe would add mod support for the console versions of the game. It's not unheard of. Fallout 4, Skyrim, Minecraft and Farming Simulator have mod support on console. I'd love to play Stardew Valley Expanded.

00:31 After the new UI update, I can no longer find the backups folder, there is no backups folder made by Steam (I searched the whole disc C). I tried creating one but Steam doesn't deem it good enough, and so I can't back it up Edit: fixed! Create your own backups folder in the same folder where your Steam games are

You can add a non-steam game and use the SMAPI executable so that you don't need to use the property command in Steam or need to launch the executable for SMAPI in the Steam Stardew Valley folder. This way you can just select SMAPI(for the modded version) or Stardew Valley for the non-modded version inside of Steam itself as it both will be there listed as games.
Thank you for being so thorough. I was really lost. One weird thing is I set up the link for smapi in steam and mods didn't launch. I appreciate you mentioning that you can just launch the modded game from smapi itself. I actually prefer that, especially because it should help me not open my unmodded games accidentally with smapi on.
