The pubs in London are just on a different level to any other in U.K. of course my opinion only . We always every couple of months get an Uber up from Watford and have a few hundred quid on us and just spend and indulge. London is magnificent. When I laid my dad to rest in March we had Bermondsey boy written in flowers on the car . South London is always in my heart especially the pie and mash in deptford high street when he took me as a kid all the time . Cheers Darren

What a beautiful mews and those gorgeous flowers such a pretty area and loved the look of pub , pie looked fab tbf full with beef love a pie and mash or pie and chips I'm still getting over the pies in the sun Inn to be honest.x
Love pie and mash as long as its done properly ie in a decent pub. I've eaten in those dodgy oldskool pie and mash shops, its like smash for the potatoes and the pies are paper thin. Some of the new chains like Pieminster with vension pie are pretty good though.
Great Vlog DJ from London originally ,go back a few times a year following football love all the old pub in Central London, as for pie mash can't beat it . Keep up your interesting vlogs stay safe stay happy ❤
I live in north Kent and the prices are much the same here. Also it’s the experience as much as anything especially walking down that lovely mews. Yea, more old London pubs need visiting and reviewing😀😀😀
Absolutely gorgeous lane to walk down ,beautifully kept in historic fashion .this pub is grate id would pay that price for the pie meal because it is made lovely.worth it . 🇦🇺💖👍 A homely meal is better than a fast food for me .it is comforting.100% my favourite pastry.

Love the little street with all the plant pots outside and the Duke pub looks old fashioned i like pubs with a bit of character like that , I hope you told them they left Daisy off the name of the pub Darren, I personally wouldn’t pay £17 for a pie and mash and a few veg

Looked amazing, the only change I would have made would be chicken n mushroom pie. Veg and mash made my mouth water. Lovely to see that little street aswell, so cute, this proves why it’s important to steer off the beaten track. As ever Darren ‘you nailed it’ 😋

The fresh trendsetting with the classics.Your pie&mash &the vegetables had the juices flowing, but why plonk the pie on top of the mash&vegetables??Modern trendy way of presenting a meal The cost was/is what you have to pay for a good lunch in London.It's an old saying: " buy cheap,buy twice"and the enjoyment of fresh good grub cooked,served to you,thenwalk away from the washing up 😊😊😊 whats not to love?A not everyday treat,something to savour when you can. I used to use the Lord Clyde 27 Clennam Street, London, SE1 1ER back in the 80s and early 90s. It was a little gem of a pub run by the same family since the war, with an excellent homemade steak pie. If you find yourself in the area pop in for me and see if it’s still good. The owners son, Michael ran it then, is it still in the same family I wonder. Looks the same from the website photos. I’ll never get to visit it now but would love to know it survived. Cheers DJ.

It's is near Tower Hill under an arch(EC3 post code)just had a swift pint,thought DJ.Let 'I'm know.😊 Fair menu of pub grub,and some good ale. Amusing those little houses minimum 3 million ++ ..nice little local pub used to be the Duke of York appropriately situated on Roger st lol .Food looked good.Pint 6 quid? Rent alone 57k pa.Grade 11 listed. Pubs have a lot of history maybe tie that in with the grub?

I just love pie n mash, and that was really nice, that's my dinner sorted for tomorrow, probably just a pukka pie, make a bit of mash, "Cyprus potatoes" some nice gravy and peas. Nice one Darren 👍
That meal looked delicious…meat in the pie, instead of sloppy mince. Know it’s nothing to do with meal in hand.. have you ever been to a restaurant that did Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy as a starter. My parents when we lived in North Yorkshire took us to a restaurant that did this, many years ago, would be good see if you find one.
Wow you gone and done it again! Looks bloody delicious. I had a go to pie place in East Boston, MA,USA, it was called KO Pies and run by an Aussie guy. He new his stuff and was doing every pie you can imagine. Out of this world then Covid and he shut down and went back to Australia. Can’t blame the guy but me and my misses don’t half miss it
At first glance i thought the pie was on the small side, but when you cut it open it was packed with meat, rather than padded out with gravy and veg. I dont think the price is expensive. Im just north of peterborough and that would cost around £14 up here.
