Maybe I am lazy but I would have just showed up with my pre-amp pedal and in-ears - that's some job taking that cab onto the train .... Great video though you should do more of these ! am subscribed now

Cheers Ivor, thanks for the comment! Yep, I woulkd normally have done the same but the whole situation was vague - a lot of deps, borrowed PA, no knowledge of the house system and monitoring. I usually work in a band where I can run off a preamp pedal on my board and be in control of my IEM mix but I knew that was very unlikely to be the case. As it turned out, the monitoring was okay but I would have been at the mercy of someone else for my mix and it would have meant on-stage communication between the band would have been pretty tricky too! Glad you enjoyed the video!

I've been toying with getting an elf for a while now, but as I play the same venue most of the time, I can take a small pedal board and use their DI or my own, but I love my TE TheBLX-80 at home for a practice rig, and it doubles well as a small venue amp too. The bonus is that the previous owner put castors on it, so I do not need to carry it, even thought about putting a dog lead on the one end or a fold-away handle so that I can pull it around without needing to bend down to it.
    Keep on Rocking Bud

@@BrooksysBassCorner Yes bud, reminiscent of my own travel needs, I have a folding set of wheels, a small pedal fight board and a guitar gig bag, as my headless custom is much shorter that a “Standard Bass” And much lighter than most too.

i have an elf with a 10" elf TE cab but prefer the sound through one of my hartke hydrive 112's - would be good to pair the elf up with a small barefaced cab for extra weight saving

Cheers for the comment Steve...an idea for a future video right there. Nice one!

Have you tried the Barefaced 2x12 Mike? fantastic, very light cab with 2 small wheels, so no trolly needed. I've had mine about 10 years used with a GK MB800. I think it's the ultimate very powerful very light rig. One of my Precisions & a Polytune & I'm good for any size venue!

Cheers Geoff, no I haven't. To be fairn this sort of experience is a rarity for me. A lot of my gigs now are pedalboard/IEM based, my backline usage has declined considerably since we came out of lockdown. Hope you enjoyed the video!

@@BrooksysBassCorner Yes Mike, enjoyed the video very much! Yeah, all my gigs are IEM, I wish I'd got on to it years ago before my ears were destroyed by drummers! But I always use my backline, old habits & all that... Have you done a feature on your pedalboard? I'd like to see how you roll with that as I'm looking at options for flyaway gigs! Cheers Mike & good to see Jersey Jay! Knew him from gigging on the Island!

Pedalboard video very imminent! Funnily enough, got a gig in Denmark in a few weeks time but may only take 1 or 2 pedals, if that! Hand luggage limits are making it harder to take anything with you on gigs where costs are the main consideration.
