    Just a thought… maybe the anemone moved due to water flow. Adding another pump prob changed the water pattern. Tank is looking better. 👍

    I wonder if cleaning and adding a new pump change the flow for your nem and made him move

    • @melevsreef
      @melevsreef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know? Those pumps are about 5’ away, and pretty much should be what the old ones were doing.

      @@melevsreef id check your apex power monitor. I have a feeling your old dry side was slowly loosing its voltage. So 50% may have been 25% because the pump was so old. And now the new pump is running at full strength. Also the new westside's by ecotech have a slight curvature in the blades that allow a broader flow pattern. This could be the problem I'd swap back to your original westside and see if that fixes it

    The new MP60s might be putting out more flow than the old ones casuing the nem to want to move.

  • @thomasmiller2089
    @thomasmiller2089 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Maybe the anemone moved because of the new MP 60s were stronger and more flow or new/stronger pattern?

    Had this happen to me with the MP40, if it is not perfectly aligned…they will detach, took 3 times for me

  • @cameronbasford8991

    Both my mp40’s fall down occasionally. It’s so frustrating.
    Even the cable mounts that come with them have fallen and caused the dry sides to hit the ground.
    The glass on the inside and outside of my tank are cleaned prior to them being installed.

    • @melevsreef
      @melevsreef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, it’s important to make sure the dry side can’t fall off the tank.

      @@melevsreef definitely. I had two of the sticky cable holders for each pump and both fell.

    I had that issue with the wetside, it only happened when it was ramping at low speeds. I kept it above 25% and it stopped.

    • @melevsreef
      @melevsreef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine was at 50%. They are replacing the wetside.

    Wouldn’t running GFO be a more reasonable solution than a maintenance dose of PhosRx?

    • @melevsreef
      @melevsreef  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a fan of GFO

    Can Seabee anemone be placed in the same tank with rose bubble tip anemone?

    I’ve been having the same problems MP 40 wet sides recently. I don’t know what their issue is if it’s a quality control problem or not but I’ve had a few of them come off I’ve also had a bunch of them spinning on five eights inch glass. I went to reef bums live stream a few weeks ago and saw the same thing on his with the wet side completely spinning on the inside and by spinning I mean the rubber is not connecting properly with the glass. I’ve also seen the screen come off multiple times. If anyone wants an MP40let me know. not impressed compared to the Neptune wav pumps.

    It does look like a happy reef again.
    I have a question: I am hesitant to add an anemone, because they move. But, I very much want one.
    I know I'd prefer to have a species that favors sediment over rock, so I don't want something like an RBT.
    Everything I've read suggests a leather or sebae is likely the species which would work best for my preference in location. But yours always looks like it's on the rock... Is it's foot actually in sediment? or is it displaying behavior that favors climbing rock work?

      Long tentacles like the sand

    • @melevsreef
      @melevsreef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Sebae is a sand dweller. This one has its foot on rock though.

      Thank you both, that was helpful. I'll put more research into a Long tentacle before I try for one or the other. :)

    If your new mp60 wasn't in the glass most of the night and day it was probably walking around looking for more flow

    • @melevsreef
      @melevsreef  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the wetside had an issue. Ecotech is replacing it.

    Is that cyano on your rock or is it coralline algae appearing really red 😂

    • @melevsreef
      @melevsreef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not cyano, that’s for certain. I thought it was red coralline, but one person said it could be a type of red turf algae brought on with potassium dosing. I’m keeping an eye on it.
