    Thank you for the nice video on this Platin Monaco 5.1+WiSA SoundSend transmitter, Tuned by THX, WiSA Certified immersive audio speaker system!

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You guys need to make those surround speakers with a up firing speaker at a slight angle on top of those surrounds for the ATMOS effect. And maybe ability to add one extra subwoofer. 5.2.4 That would be awesome, specially with those sized speakers. Not everyone lives in a big house. I live in an apartment, but would love to have the sound separation and ATMOS with the integrated up firing speakers on the surrounds.

    I have the Klipsch WiSA set up. It was expensive but sounds very nice. I agree that there is a lot of troubleshooting involved and it’s been a bumpy ride. First, the Axiim Link would cut in and out then I got the SoundSend and the problem went away! Was happy that my problems were over. After not too long, the app wouldn’t work, have to constantly unplug/replug the Soundsend for it to allow the app to communicate with my SoundSend. The audio does not work If you have eARC on and watch a movie on Netflix that supports Dolby Atmos so you have to constantly turn eARC off to watch Atmos content. Non stop issues but I do enjoy it when it works.

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that’s my only hesitancy when it comes to WiSA or soundbars in general. The ease of hooking it up initially is great, but troubleshooting is a pain. Hooking up speakers to a receiver with speaker wire requires more planning and labor up front, but worth it in the end since it just works with almost no troubleshooting once it’s set up. But I don’t doubt the sound quality is amazing with those Klipsch WiSA speakers. 🙌

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. WiSA technology is superior to Bluetooth when it comes to wirelessly sending an uncompressed audio signal to its certified speakers. It does technically use Bluetooth to communicate with the smartphone app to control volume levels and make tweaks to the system, but that’s the extent of it.

      @@richardcordero1902 Eh, not really any Atmos alternative to Sonos. There is the Klipsch Cinema 800 that’s coming out sometime later this year that has “virtual Atmos.” But the Cinema 1200 will be the only soundbar that Klipsch is offering with actual Atmos upward-firing speakers. And that release date keeps getting pushed back.

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The SoundSend has the ability to support a 5.1.2 system if you happen to purchase 2 additional satellite speakers. This system only comes with 5 satellites so you can only have either a 5.1 or 3.1.2 system.
      The Atmos aspect is achieved probably best by mounting 2 satellites above the TV near the corner where the wall and ceiling meet, pointed slightly down toward your listening position.
      On Platin’s store page towards the bottom, you can purchase a pair of satellites on their own. 👍

      I’ve only had access to the Platin Monaco and Milan, which are virtually the same, but the Monaco is a little bigger and tuned by THX. I did use 2 of the Milan speakers with the Monaco to make a 5.1.2 Atmos setup and it was pretty cool. I’ve also just tested the Enclave CineHome II (review coming soon), but you can’t add speakers to it. It’s 5.1 and that’s it, since the CineHub works exclusively with Enclave speakers (even though they are also WiSA certified). Interesting.

    So when it comes to an atmos system, what would you recommend the crossover freq set to and what db should each speaker be at? I have a 5.1.2 setup. My upfiring speakers are built into my klipsch front speakers.have the Sony str dh 790. I measured and am about 9ft from speakers (l c r ) to couch.

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, well when you have those big floor standing speakers, if your center channel’s frequency response goes down to like 40Hz, I’d set the crossover of your LCR to about 60Hz? Maybe even 50Hz? But surrounds and height channels can get by with your standard THX standard 80Hz crossover, depending on how low their frequency response goes down to. The little satellites in my system only go down to 110Hz, so my crossover frequency across the board is set to 120Hz, since my sub can handle picking up that slack.
      As far as db, numbers only get you so far. It’s all about your ears and how you perceive what sounds “good” in your space. That’s when speaker balancing becomes an art form. Just keep experimenting! 😀🙌

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Well, Axiim Link has the benefit of being used both on an XBOX and TV since it’s USB. Although it can’t technically decode Dolby Atmos if that was a thing you wanted to try (like a 5.1.2 configuration).
      The SoundSend is newer and plugs in via HDMI, so it can decode Atmos, but can ONLY be plugged into a smart tv and NOT also an XBOX.

      Hi, and thanks for the great compliments! If you wanna stick with Klipsch, their R-80SWi is basically the same wireless sub that comes with the Theater Pack. It’s on sale now for $199. That way you can stick it anywhere near an outlet and not have to worry about speaker wire.
      But if you just want another subwoofer and don’t care about brand, Polk Audio makes decent subs for around $100.
      If I got another sub, I’d put it on the ground near the opposite wall from my current sub, just to make sure I’m filling the room evenly.

      Great question! You will still be able to enjoy Atmos via ARC, it will just be compressed a little (like when you watch streaming 4K Atmos shows or movies on Netflix, Disney+, etc). eARC is for uncompressed, high-bandwidth Atmos like when you watch a 4K Blu-ray Disc on an XBOX connected to your TV, for example.
