Thank you for your input. One of the problems with Slang is that it can be very localised and specific to a certain group of people or location, so making one lesson cannot cover all the slang terms. In fact I could probably make a dozen lessons about North American Slang terms and another dozen about UK slang. The other factor is that Slang is constantly changing, with new terms appearing almost by the month! I will return to this subject again. Cheers! (Misterduncan)
u r doing an excellent job. i am from Pakistan residing in Saudi Arabia and was in search of some good english series for my children. Today my daughter seven years old Omema found it and it's excellent. I have seen about six or seven.
Useful lesson!! Thank you
Yes you are right. "Take it easy" can actually be used in more than one way. It can mean "Calm Down" or "Be careful how you go" or "Take it steady". There are also other expressions for "Calm down",such as "Chill" or "Simmer down" and "Cool it"...All my video lessons are here on TH-cam. All free...no charge!! (Misterduncan)
You are really awesome! You are a good teacher i ever seen......Ta very much!!!💐💐💐
Thank you, your lesson is very useful. Commonly at school we don't learn slang, therefore thanks for this video. I learned a lot of new words
Hello. Do you mind if we make friends to learn from each other.
thanx 4 showing the difference between american english and british english....i love it.
A very Useful Lesson
Thank you MisterDuncan
Greetings from El Salvador. Thanks to you I learnt english watching your videos and practicing everytime.
You are an amazing teacher! I love your lessons, strategies and I love you.
You are very good teacher !!!
congratulations!
Sandra from Brazil
Your videos are very entertaining to the native english speaker as well. As an American, I've only heard of about roughly a third of the british expressions, so it was a treat for me to watch it and learn some new vocabulary.
thank you!you're the best teacher
What an awesome lesson ❤️
Thanks a bunch 💐
hello Mr.Duncan i was just watching some of your videos and i just came up for a great video idea for you!
You should do a video on the new internet language -- like - computer communications- or msn writing- or texting (because the language we use on those devices are different then what we would use in the real world-right?!)
great videos by the way - big fan!
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks a bundle!
Thank you very much mister duncan for every lesson you gave us
Many thanks Misterduncan for this lessen , it is very important .
this the better teacher in the world misterduncan
That was awesome. Thanks a lot Mr.Duncan for teaching us english.
An S .. An L...An A .. An N ...A G. The reason why I put 'an' before the others and not G is because the phonetic sound of these letters begin with a vowel sound. For example L. The first phonetic sound of this letter is 'E' (ell) and 'S' (ess) and 'N' (enn), But 'G' does not (jee). Hope this help.
(Misterduncan)
I can assure you I'm not wrong. The word 'bad' is used as a slang term for 'good' or 'cool'. More recently the work 'sick' has taken on a similar meaning. (Misterduncan)
Lol. This teacher cracks me up. But he's very good... It's the way a language's got to be taught really... It doesn't have to be tedious. Slang is quite important, too. I'm from Argentina and been learning English for almost 5 years now. If there's something I've worked out myself that's that you never finish learning a language lol.... there's always something that's left to be regarded.
i am from vietnam. i like ur lession so much and like ur teaching style, if u have a lot of lesson about grammar, may be help us alot and useful. thank u , help us
thank you i admire you you are anexellant teacher
To be 'chuffed' is a common expression in the UK. To have a chat...or 'chin wag' is used a lot too. I'm chuffed that you left a message. 8-))
Hi Misterduncan, plase could you tell me the software that you use for "Video Editing" on your lessons?
Thanks for your reply
Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Your point is noted, however you are making the usual mistake of assuming that the syntax used in your street (sic) is the only one that exists. One of the beauties of modern Slang is that it is constantly changing and very often definitions can vary from location to location. There are literally thousands of Slang terms around. It would be clear to most people that my selection is not meant to be in any way exhaustive. A third Slang lesson will be made in September (Misterduncan)
great to listen and learn. Ace
LOL is not slang, but is in fact an abbreviation of 'Laugh Out Loud' or 'Lots Of Laughter'. The word 'dude' means 'man'. Seen in sentences such as "Hey dude, where are you going?" or "Whats up dude?".
(Misterduncan)
Thanks for the lesson
very good Mr. Duncan that's very cooooool
thanx alot
Great lesson Mr Duncan
Thanks Mister Duncan for posting this video,,your such an awesome teacher,, I've learn't a lot of slang words from you .. hope you uploaded more videos using slang .. hang tight .. :))
Well Slang can be any word. A noun or verb or adjective. 'EMO' comes straight from the word emotional. It describes a certain fashion style and a person who appears 'deep'. To be honest, slang can be anything you want it to be, as that is its very nature. I'm often criticised for giving you these words, but the fact remains that they all exist. Perhaps not in your street, or town...or even country. But exist they do!
(Misterduncan)
Thank you for your efforts
Great job mr. Duncan.
Thanks a lot of Mallorca, Ta-rah

Great vid! :)
Although I was rather surprised at some of the US slang terms...like "gut-full." I can't recall ever having heard that. And "far-out" is so 70s. Haha.
Very cool!
@MyNeonblack The problem with some words and especially slang is that they can mean more than one thing. Some words can have a positive or harmless meaning in one place and a negative or offensive one in another. This is what you must explain to your students.
(Misterduncan)
Thanks. Mr.Duncan. a question..doesn't TAKE IT EASY mean to be calm?

See... I learned some english slang words . x)
Wow! I'm just i wanna hug with this lessons.
It is common for negative words to have a positive slang meaning. In the past 'wicked' also meant 'cool' or 'great'. Nowadays the word 'sick' is used to mean 'good' or 'great'. Don't be confused. In English slang, this does not happen very often. 8-))
My Duncan is half chrome head teacher he is also so smart

In Scotland we also say 'spof' for a smart person who sticks in at school and stuffs.
mr.dunca i love ur lesson and u r relly funy teacher.can i do 1 qaution?could u tell me "derss kill" what means tanku
As a suggestion, it might be good to state whether each word has a positive or negative connotation so as not to confuse people. for example 'egg-head' may mean someone who is intelligent, but is not necessarily a compliment...
Good teacher misterducan
Thank you so much for your lesson to share to us. I love your lessons so much. I like British accent coz' I understand it so well 55. I'll follow your lesson as far as possible. ^_^
awesome !!
Slang relies on context and how the phrase is spoken. The slang ''bad'' is not used as much these days. As I have said many times, slang is always changing. So do not feel bad about this. 8-))
awesome
hi Mr. Duncan.. I love how the way you teach and i want to learn your accent.. do u know anybody that is willing to talk to me from England, and i will be able to learn as well. Hope for your reply..
thank you..

Yes it does. It has an offensive meaning. You could say that Slang has a bad side to it. (Misterduncan)
