I own 3 mirage orange pearl and one black one. These XR's are the coolest and most pleasant to ride street bike that HD ever built. Tough to find a creampuff but worth the search.
I have a 2010. I have a Thundermax Tuner and a Bassani 2 into 1. It runs fantastic. It runs way, way, way better than with the Fuelpak and Power Commander Autotune.
@@RedlinePowersports Thanks for the reply. I have a sportster with hammer performance 1275 kit with 570 cams and 1200 efi heads. I've been meaning to get a Dyno tune . I'm still on the break in tune. My bike makes good power the torque difference is the most notable.
Thats at the rear wheel, which means more like 100+ at the crank. That 650 was lucky to make 60hp at the crank, and less than half the torque of the XR. Torque is what moves you, and on the XR, like all Harleys, the torque starts pulling you hard at around 2500 rpm. These bikes can be hard to hang onto from the start, if you are not paying attention. I have ridden Honda 750 4's that could only of those kinds of torque numbers. Horsepower is only a result of torque x rpm. Thats not the hole formula, but an engine making 50hp at 5000 rpm, and 40lbs tq, will make around 70hp at 8000 rpm, but little if any increase in torque. Take that 70hp up a 7% grade and you are downshifting like crazy to keep speed. That XR will take the same grade in 5th gear, with two up riding, no problem. My 1200 sportster, with less power than the XR would easily do that, and so does my 900lb Ultra Classic. Most folks that diss HD bikes, have never ridden one.
Xr 1200s are so sick. I love the styling

Sell me one lol
@@wildone9347 Got cash?
Sounds great! What about a have XR after a FXD ‘09? This choice is a step back or not?
@@wildone9347 I can do that.
@@brought_in_dead Apples and oranges to a degree. Completely different engine characteristics, seating, ergonomics, handling. Test ride an XR first.

ThunderMax makes a nice tuner 👌
Why is he fondling the front brake? Going somewhere? 🙄
Some habits are hard to break 😜
That’s good,it means he uses his front brakes.
@@RedlinePowersports You mean hard to brake? 🤪
🤘
Can you feel a big difference in power after the Dyno tune? I know it's not a big jump in peak power but a good gain through out the rev range.
On this one the peak power stayed about the same but picked up mid and low end torque. The tune also makes the bike feel much more smooth 👍

Wow, that dude makes as much hp as my 1980 650 kawasaki! Awesome.
