I've been on camping trips. NEVER needed to drink my own urine. The situation where a grown man NEEDS to drink his own urine to survive is such a rare one even in the extremes Grylls puts himself in, that the only excuse for him doing it more than once is that he enjoys doing it. Respect the wild sure. But if he can't figure out how to keep water handy when he's standing next to a mountain stream with the president, (he asked Obama if he'd like to drink urine later), the man has issues.

Not necessarily. With three interviews on this episode they were racing against time so cuts are natural to happen. Even if you look at the Craig Ferguson interview from the same night, there's at least one noticeable cut as well, although probably more. They have limited time, and the interview segments tend to run late, and then they have to decide what they can cut out, even if it makes the transitions a bit abrupt for an unsuspecting viewer. One of the worst examples was one of Stephen's interviews with Jon Stewart, I think the one where Jon 'ribs Stephen for his recent language'. That was butchered so bad it was painful to watch. Edit: I just wish they uploaded uncut interviews on TH-cam at least, this is not network TV with a fixed time slot after all.

It’s a Tv show first and foremost. And it would vary episode to episode but the crew all have provisions and tents etc. bear will sleep with the crew at the camp every night, expect the nights we’re they film, then he will show how to make a camp and spend the night in it. If he’s thirsty he will try to source water, or pee as last resort. If it’s not possible he will have the crews supplies. He isn’t going to die on set.
I have been watching him for around a decade, but this is the first time i came to know how he actually sounds! Because on TV his programs are translated in Hindi.
