Much needed interview. Thanks Dw. The most important step right now, is to have Isabel Dos Santos judged, and the stolen money returned to its legitimate owner: The most financially vulnerable people of Angola.

Last I checked, Angola is a capitalist state, where people are allowed to be rich, if they make the right investments. It will be highly speculative to say that Isabelle stole money as one will have to have proof. The Angolan state/ Government, as well as other African States need to understand that attacking people because they have been successful in taking advantage of the system is BAD for BUSINESS. They should instead, encourage her to come back and invest in Angola and create jobs for all her brothers and sisters..Sad...

Analyzing the before and now, the aftermath seems to us shadowed, foggy, frightening, hopeless, without a future. From Cabinda to Cunene but also from the sea to the east, passing through all the other provinces, what is the balance of 45 years of independence? Did we succeed in realizing Agostinho Neto's dream of constituting "one people and one nation"? "The fight goes on"? and will the victory be certain? And what victory are we talking about? Whose and about whom? In fact, what does this mean by "independence"? Which generation is being educated for the future? What Angola are we leaving for the next generations? Given the breadth of the project and due to space savings, we present here only a brief analysis as University Students, going back historically, and that this is always justified. We mainly try to look at Angola and reflect on its situation: Before Peace the country hired several Doctors, Engineers, Teachers, Economists, Lawyers and even cooks. All of them foreign. After equal peace. Today Angola has several professionals trained in different areas, the question is: Why their unemployment? Until when do we have to wait for a better Angola for everyone? When will young professionals be considered in this country? Ate Cuando Mr. President, we need this answer.

To be honest he was apart of the regime and also benefited from the corrupt state. His family are also kleptocrats. Is this a grudge match or will he take everyone to task including himself ? African politicians are a joke and need to do better. Build Hospitals And Train nurses and other health care professionals. Work on alleviating poverty. Provide jobs for the citizens. They are all falling to meet the basic needs of the people. The people need to rise up and fight these corrupt politicians.

Germany should totally expand its influence in Namibia through German language and culture. It’s Germany’s only former colony and it seems they don’t care about it at all. France is still gripping half of Africa in its fist pretty much and everybody is fine with it. Be smart Germany, establish special ties with Namibia, make it some kind of neo-colonial relationship. I’m sure they’d be more than happy since they are piss poor anyway and can only get better.

Germany "should totally" start thinking about how they are going to repair the consequences of the genocide of 80% of the Hereros and 50% of the Namas of Namibia, which actually already constitute its "special ties" with that country. Acknowledge recognize and apologize for what it has done to namibians is what they should be thinking of...as well as return the remains they took with them to Germany as an ultimate insult other than drop by drop every once in a while.
Your certainty that they would be "more than happy " is based on your narcissistic arrogance combined with your jaw-dropping ignorance about that part of the world and its peoples. You and those who share your mindset are the "piss poor" ones... necessitous desperate looters who never in a thousand lifetimes, would have had the so so-called Prosperity you think you have and protect so much... if you had stayed in your impoverished resourceless countries in the first place.
Africa doesn't need your languages. Like in Cameroon, they are a source of conflict. We have our own languages.
Africa is also not your cow to milk.
You should worry about reconquering your influence on your own territories and quit that Obsession of yours with Africa !...otherwise you'll just keep seeing Africans getting on boats and coming to get back what you won't stop taking from them. Starting with peace..
