- This PC is an Asus from 2007 with 2gb of ram, an 80 gb hard drive and an Intel Pentium D processor running Windows Vista Home Premium. The computer has Microsoft Office 2007 installed. The version of Windows Media Player that is installed is Windows Media Player 11. The web browser that is used is Mypal and it gets its internet connection directly through a Lan connection.
Windows Vista is a version of the Microsoft Windows operating system released at the end of 2006. Windows Vista is built on the NT 5.X codebase. Windows Vista would be the first version of Windows to introduce gadgets with the sidebar and the Windows aero theme. Windows Vista would also bring about a huge change in the style of the interface with transparency effects and cool 3D effects like the Flip 3D feature. However transparency and Flip 3D would not be available on editions of home basic and starter. These would also not be available if your computer did not meet the requirements for the feature to work properly. Windows Vista had a very long development starting shortly after the release of Windows Xp in 2001 under the codename Longhorn. Due to mismanagement Longhorn would be delayed many times passing its planned release date of 2003 until it would be reset in 2004 due to the implementation of too many features resulting in the codebase becoming very unstable. The project would then be restarted and completed by the end of 2006. However, due to the rush to finish as a result of the reset the OS would end up being a bit unstable. Also due to the long gap between Xp and Vista many people upgrading would not be able to run Vista properly due to the high system requirements of Windows Vista. Many would complain about the OS being too bloated and unstable. Many of the stability issues would be then fixed by service packs 1 and 2 and many new computers of the time were then designed to run Vista. However, due to the botched release the systems name was now associated with being unstable that very few people wanted to move to Windows Vista and chose to remain with Windows Xp. Support for Windows Vista would end in 2017.
Quite a daring and colorful GUI Vista had. Continuing a trend set with Windows XP which I still have fond memories of as well. The bold move to the ‘tiles’ with Windows 8 I never fancied though.
I have fond memories of using Windows Vista on an actual PC at an aunt's house back in 2011 and in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 at home during the early 2010s. This is a great demonstration. Well done!

SP2 is better
Crazy how a pc from mid-late 2000's is considered "Retro Tech". Looks so modern lol
I had no problems with Windows Vista. It ran on a Toshiba Satellite. Brings back so many memories.
Because you have SP2
Vista is legendary
@@OV3RDRIVE24 Yes, vista sp2 itself was very good, extremely reliable and fast
@@OV3RDRIVE24 Yes, Windows Vista SP2 is just as good as XP
I really miss those times. Life was good. Simple.
Exactly, my friend!
It may be the worst OS but 15% of my nostalgia was from there
@@internetproduction5446Vista was never the worst, there are other the were miles worse
Playing Runescape in 07 on a vista PC, good memories

I started using Vista as a few months old baby. My mum had it on her Siemens Fujitsu laptop from 2007, the year she started using it.
I enjoyed every second of Winwos Vista back in the day,it was amazing,I love the interface and the design.
Vista SP2 is really awesome on proper hardware i use it on a x58 system with a 6 core Xeon, 24gb ram and a Radeon 7970
Vista SP2 is very awesome when it was released.
I remember my grandparents had a computer like this.
The sibling that guided his succesors to a treasure he couldn't posess
Such computer was my dream in middle 2000s as is my PC had AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1,8 Ghz 1 Gb RAM but ATi Radeon 9550 256 Mb (It was worth near 1200$ in 2006). This computer worked with Windows XP and Vista didn't because I hadn't good connection with internet till 2010 and bought programes in shop. However not all programs supported Windows Vista
I actually loved windows 7 until windows 10 came and you had to down grade and get your data back all over but windows vista was the best for my parents until their laptops didn’t work with it so they went to windows 7 like me
Yes. SCREEN 12 by definition is a 16 color mode. If you want to use 640x480x256 then use:
Vista is beatiful, dude.
Man i miss my vista machine!
This PC is in late 2010, and I have a PC similar to this
Back in '08 I bought a new Compac pc with Vista.....and it was horrible. The problem was that it only came with 2 GB of ram---it needed at least 4. As a result, it would constantly hang, with the white screen and spinning icon.....sometimes it was so bad I'd have to do a hard reboot, because it wasn't coming out of it.
Yeah I feel like that was a big part of why Vista was so "bad". It was a resource hog for the average PC at the time and was too ambitious for the slow-as-shit HDDs and low amounts of RAM that most PCs shipped with back then
@@SavageSalad69 RTM is so bad.
I remember an uncle who had vista and I was using it for hours exploring everything
Then I got a laptop with windows 7 and when I heard that nostalgic startup sound I was like "Wow is that vista?"
Then I understood it was better than vista
I still miss vista but yeah I don't think nowadays someone would appreciate having vista after the hate I see about it
Do Windows 7 next :) since its oficially retired windows. Google and other big companies is no longer doing updates for w7 from january 2023. A good farewell !

Great job
This Windows Vista was most hated by (almost) everyone, because it is a bit stuck and has a blue screen error all the time, because of the theme called "Aero" it makes the designs more transparent, but it was very heavy on the computer and operating system, then when it turns on or does something it suddenly freezes and gives a blue error screen
Vista RTM
That's mostly because of the RTM
question: how you have so much tech ???
Years of collecting 😅
I love the pc case, do you know the name of it or no?
this is a great os
It was pretty good by service pack 2 just a shame it took so long to get there
@@kevincampbell989 Dude Vista SP1/SP2 is okay as 7

I can see the stickers intel pentium 2009 on windows vista
Is this a computer shop?
If Windows Vista had not had the errors when it came out, we would have had the most advanced operating system of its time, one where everyone would have bought but since it did not exist, unfortunately They gave us a system full of errors that when starting gave a blue screen, it was also lagged, not all the computers ran smoothly
Although my Toshiba A215 laptop, if I'm not mistaken about the model, if I could run it well, you could watch TH-cam, although unfortunately it's not with me
The problem was that "it was too much ahead of it's time"
I was only 5 when Vista came out and didn’t really know what it was till I was 10, but if I was like 10 years older or something I probably would have gotten Vista the second it came out, even if it “sucked.” I mean it looks 100x better than XP which I kinda hated even when it was the latest OS.
Let me guess that build is from 2009?
What is the model of that monitor?
I managed to skip this os. Only used it on one computer that I didn't mess with much. Xp straight to 7.
The monitor has built-in speakers because I don't see any external speakers on the table.
Yes
surprisingly fast boot for vista
wow~
5:02 it is service pack 2
But the processor of windows vista is not pentium d its core 2 duo anyway good video
No it’s the a Pentium 4
I like to windows vista
Have same keyboard but logo different

Bro i have same keyboard 😊
Vista was actually a marketing disaster, although it wasn't a bad operating system.
Sp1 and Sp2 fixed most RTM problems
RTM is so bad
RTM is a disaster.
@@MaruAngelo-bg4vm I mean service pack 2 fixed all RTM issues.
@@AdventuresOfYoussef I remembered when SP1 fixed most RTM issues, and then SP2 fixed nearly everything that was wrong with Vista RTM and it turned to be a good OS that is stable as XP SP3 and 7 SP1.
