    I find that a high quality vacuum with HEPA filter used regularly around every crack and seam is a very affective start above all, Then go over everything again with a decent steamer to penetrate deep and help get rid of any living remains, Steam can also replace nearly any chemical for cleaning and can help remove stains and wrinkles safely

    What about Diatomaceous Earth? I heard that power is very useful and works very well. I been trying to get ride of them with 91% alcohol and Pine-Sol. The alcohol words to a certain point. But they come back. What I'm looking for is a cheap way to get ride of them but also a way where they are gone for good. Any and I mean any help I would appreciate very very much.

    • @BedbugSupply
      @BedbugSupply  7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Diatomaceous earth certainly does kill bed bugs, and is part of our recommended treatment solution. However, it kills very slowly and is only effective in certain areas, so it's not something you'd want to use on its own.

Bites for weeks and I FINALLY found one a week ago but it wasn't an adult and it was during the day. That means theres more out there and if they're hungry they'll come out at any time. I've heard a neighbor say the apartment has bed bugs. So I was glad I moved in with an air mattress.....they can't hide on air mattress I check it everyday there's nothing to squeeze in or cling too. I just can't find their hiding spot. I miss sleep.

      Ate they kind of oval shaped
      Cause if so u might have scabies
      I had scabies once
      They're little microscopic mites that crawl into ur skin
      And lay eggs but all u have to do is wash ur sheets and laundry and then get this kind of cream that u leave on overnight and I kills them
      But to find out exactly what it is go to a dermatologist
      Not the doctor bc I had them for 8 months and the doctors didn't know what it was then I went to a dermatologist and they told me it was scabies and gave me a prescription for the cream

      They can still be bedbugs. I thought I'd eliminated them for the cause of my bites at night(checked all obvious places) found nothing. Finally, 2 decided it'd be safe to stay in the bed, pulled it apart and found em. Thinking they're living in the cracks between the carpet and molding and that's where they typically return. I wouldn't rule them out at all.

      depends on how big your building is i guess. personally i would not stay and live there.
      cause if many ppl live there and they don't all do what you do to help to eradicate them, they will just keep muliplying and spreading well every summer. IN winter, if its very cold there, basically if you don't over heat your place they should die. i'm sorry i can't advice you more as i don't really know your situation better. Its dreadful to have to live with this. My condolences, gl. But the cold will kill them also.gl

    Best way to get rid of bed bugs;
    1: Open your oven and set the temperature to 350 degrees F and let the stove warm up
    2: Use industrial fans to circulate air in the house/apt
    3: Set your stove on high but do NOT ignite the gas
    4: Seal all doors and windows so no bed bugs can escape and spread
    5: Grab your least favorite zippo/windproof lighter and ignite it inside the room farthest from the kitchen
    6: Get the fuck out of the house you have a few seconds.

    • @nymeria7239
      @nymeria7239 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If he sat on your furniture, and then you (obviously not knowing he had brought little unfriends with him!) sat after him, then the bugs probably hitched a ride on you right into your bedroom. You are going to have to find a tactful way to let him know that he has infected you, because think of what is happening with other people he has been going to visit. If you and he know the same people, but you don't have him over anymore, but you still invite over people that he has been going to visit, then they could bring the bugs to your home too. And then, what if you go to visit someone that your friend has been visiting, and you pick up bugs that he has taken over there, and bring them back home? Unless you alert this friend and your other friends about these bugs, your only other option is to cut off your circle of friends, because if they are not made aware of the problem, you will all be swapping these bugs back and forth like trading cards. Wishing you the best of luck!

      Laura Lopez no problem. Since the bed bug problem we ended up moving from our apartment. We got rid of our bed as bad as it sounds, my mother wasn't willing to dedicate herself to fixing it. We washed all our clothing and packed it in plastic bags. We also washed all our bedsheets over, and soaked our beds. We didn't take much, only beds and clothes (moving with someone else) and since then we haven't seen any. I wish not to ever because I do think my mom would not care enough about the problem to spend money in it, and I'd be forced to live with bed bugs. That's just how my mother is.

    can I boil water and throw it around?

    • @BedbugSupply
      @BedbugSupply  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Water boils at 212 degrees and cools very quickly when removed from the heat source. If you splash boiled water around, it'll likely be below 180 degrees by the time it hits the surface. That means it's not guaranteed to kill bed bugs on contact, let alone kill any hiding beyond the surface of the materials you splashed. Not a very effective method.

      As long as the steamer puts out at least 40 PSI of steam pressure and reaches a tip temperature of at least 180 degrees at the tip, it should do the trick. There are a couple of dedicated bed bug steamers on the market that are super hot, super high pressure, and come with a high capacity boiler tank and specific features that the pros like.

      120 degrees will kill bed bugs in a short time, but not instantly. It needs to be 180 degrees or more to ensure an instant kill.

    I used a clothes steamer and used a powder that contains diatomaceous earth after finding out that my couch has bed bugs. I've had them for over a year now, and I wish I can do something about them!!!

    what temp will kill these damn things instantly

      122 Degrees Fahrenheit immediately according to the internet machine. If you can get your hands on a steamer that should do the trick instantly.

      Steve Oliver the problem with a steamer is you have to really hit them. Hold your hand near a steamer more than a few inches from the tip and it isn't nearly as hot. It would be ok for some things and some areas but definitely not a sole way of defeating them. You also have to go slower than I see most people going

    What about smoke bombs? does it works?

    • @BedbugSupply

      No, and using bug bombs can actually make the infestation harder to treat. Definitely skip those for your bed bug treatment.

    What product do you recommend for those who have an allergy to many to the pesticides?

    • @BedbugSupply
      @BedbugSupply  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The vast majority of pesticide ingredients don't cause allergic symptoms. If you can determine which ingredients cause a reaction, then you can avoid them by checking the product labels before purchasing.

      Steam is best. Also use residual sprays bought from a chemical company. OTC stuff isn't that good. Powder all cracks...crevices. Its definatly war.
