I was at that game. 19 years old. My friends and I sat at the east end zone on the first row dolphins side.
It was so freaking cold. I'll never forget that day.

Same! This was the first football game I had ever been to and I was 18 on winter break from college. On our way down from SC, it snowed all the way down to Jacksonville. There were cars skidding and crashing all over the place on 95.

I was born and raised in Miami I was 8 years old and remember how cold this game was … I don’t care what anyone says 39 degrees in Miami feels like 20 degrees up north ..

I was there as a 11 year old with my Dad, in the upper deck. Thankfully there were lots of open seats, so we just kept moving over, trying to stay in the sun. The wind up there was brutal. Coldest I’ve ever been in my life, but a memory we’ll never forget.

I know 39 degrees in Miami that day was a shock to the system in a climate that is usually warm all year round and it probably felt colder with the wind chill cause of the strong winds.

There were icicles on the ground that morning in 1989 when I woke up in South Florida.

This was the coldest Christmas we've had since I've been alive (I'm 44). I remember this so clearly. The game was blacked-out locally, so we could only listen to it on the radio. I was playing football with my friends and cousins, and it wasn't even 40 in the middle of the afternoon! That's like -50 in other states. It also happened to be my favorite Christmas ever, and I'm so happy I can actually watch this game now on TH-cam. Thanks to the poster!

39 with a 25 mph wind in Miami would feel like -10 with a 25 mph wind in Buffalo

The last game Joe Robbie saw his Dolphins play. He died the following month.

It was possible to be chilled to the bone and be sunburned that afternoon. And it happened.

This team was pretty bad, like the ones the previous 2-3 seasons. It was starting in 1990, that things really turned back around and they were always a contender up until about 2004. Can't believe how many of these players I still remember, even from the Chiefs. The Miami secondary is even worse than I remembered. Sheesh. Cover someone!
