Good video. Think I will be picking up one of these. FYI, use the simmer ring closed to put it out. You used the lid and there is a rubber O ring that could melt in there.

Been using Trangia for 37 years - I have two sizes including my original one bought for my 18th! A little tip - don't keep your handle in the yellow bag with the burner. the yellow bag is to prevent an electrochemical reaction between the two types of metal - you will end up with a hole in the bottom of the burner! I wrap my handle in a dish cloth.

I have trangia 27/2 very versatile bit of kit. Its not heavy just bulky takes up space if carying it used by swedish army, so cant be bad.
You can fit other pots and pans with it, as they are a standard size, for smaller ones you can get adaptor ring, to put very small items with it.

The Model 27 has 2x 1L nesting pans + frypan.
The Model 25 has a 1.5L and 1.7L nesting pans and a bigger frypan. The kettle is a good addition, as is the canister stove insert Trangia sells for both these stoves. We tore up our kitchen, and the gas adapter Model 25 easily cooked for three hungry adults.
For that matter, we also had the Kovea gas adapter which converts the common 1Lb propane "Coleman" tanks to fit the smaller threaded Lindal valve canister stoves popular with backpackers. REI sells this adapter. It worked great with the Trangia gas burner, was extremely clean burning, and made extensive cooking very easy and affordable.

I have the 27 and keep the 28 (mini) in my car at all times for the times I go off road and want coffee or some noodles. The 27 is for lengthy trips. Also you can get the gas canister insert to use in case of fire bans where the alcohol burner becomes illegal.

Really love these stove set, have a old 25 with kettle( paid 4 euro at a garagesale) but it is without the hole for a gas/fuel burner, and the notches to secure the windscreen. After a couple of uses i felt in love with it,easy to use and definaly a piece of kit when poop hits the propellor or a outdoor trip.
When i was looking on yt for Some reviews i decided to go for a extra gasburner
Bought a couple Months ago a new 25 hard anodized and love them even more and more.
Thanks my friend for your video and ATB

Put a little slurp of water in the alcohol stops black soot getting on the pots

Good review. You snuffed it out with the wrong lid, It should be snuffed out with a simmer ring. If you sniff it out with regular lid, it will melt the gasket and cause it to leak.

The yellow bag is not for scratching - it's because brass will corrode the aluminum if in contact. Trangia recommend storing only the brass stove and pre-heater in the yellow bag.

You can use this indoors. Either ventilate or have a carbon monoxide alarm. I have used mine fine. With ventilation the alarm doesn’t go off. 👍

I can see where this would be good for a winter cook kit or vehicle winter cook kit. You loose find motor skills in your fingers, so the bulkyness of this kit lends its self large motor muscle use which would aid in fast assembly, quicker to get cooking and more calories saved to keep you warm, IMO. Looks simular to one I saw in Sweden.
