Well done Danny, there is no end to your talents. Being able to do this you will now be able to bud cheaper DC locomotives and convert them to DCC. All the best mate, hope you and the family are enjoying the summer ☀️. Ian
Oh wow thank you Ian mate for your kind words and encouragement of support, I will definitely be doing more of these conversion projects on some more locos such a fun and enjoyable project, we are all good here mate just very busy this time of year at work but will hopefully be up in the loft when I'm next off this weekend, hope you are keeping well kind regards Danny 😊😃 😊

Well done Danny on a successful conversion mate! It’s always daunting first time but very satisfying when you’ve got a train running on DCC from your efforts, I’ve used a lot of Strathpeffer break out boards in the past and found him a very useful site for DCC, his website has some good colour coded guides for 8 and 21 pin which I refer to frequently , lovely to see the voyager running around the layout , nice one mate , cheers Darrell 😃👍
Thank you Darrell mate I absolutely agree his items are super useful and I really enjoyed every minute of this fun project and now having the voyager running on the layout is really satisfying, will certainly be doing more of these conversions to a lot of DC locos in the future, hope you are keeping well mate kind regards Danny 😀 😊 😃

Fantastic Danny that you managed to do this with no problems considering it was your 1st one. Well done mate, may you happily convert many more Dc to Dcc. Cheers Kevin 🧏♂️👍🤝
Thank you kev mate really appreciate your kind support sorry for late reply work is manic at the moment and not getting much time to check youtube, super happy with this conversion and I have a few more projects like this which I would like to convert from DC to DCC, hope you are keeping well my friend kind regards Danny 😀 😊😃
Did you not fit Function only decoders into the cab ends for the lights? As I'm sure that under DCC power all the lights would be on at the same time, including the red tail lights! I have one of these sets, but often wondered why Bachmann never made them DCC ready in the first place, as DCC was well established at the time that the models came out!
Hello Mike thank you so much for watching and commenting very much appreciated, no I only installed a decoder socket and 8 pin decoder into the middle portion of the 4 car unit where the motor is just to get it working but fortunately the front lights came on and stayed on when running in the forwards position with out the red tail lights being on at the same time, which I'm really happy with, will need to probably add a function only decoder to the rear to get the red tail lights to stay on, probably another project to do in the future, I was just really happy to get the lovely voyager working in dcc mode on the layout, hope you are keeping well kind regards Danny 😊😃 😊
Thank you Alan it is a project well worth doing so glad it paid off and went well, super happy I can now run the voyager on the layout kind regards Danny 😀 😊😃
Hi Danny hope you're keeping well mate. Fantastic video as I have 2 voyagers, an Electrostar and a bachmann 158 that I want to convert to DCC. Thanks so much for sharing, probably going to be my next project. Kind regards David

I'm glad I came across this video. I always wondered how easy it would be to convert an engine from DC to DCC. Part of my is still slightly squeamish about doing it as I don't have much soldering experience, but it does look like it would be easy. Very clean job as well Danny. Hopefully one day I can try this out myself for a couple trains I own. :)
