Thanks! This is quite simple to follow. One question, does it also work for 3.10 ? (so i can run a venv with this version)

When we run the sudo make -j 4, then sudo make altinstall in the Downloads folder, does it make python 3.12 in the Downloads folder? Or is it made somewhere else? Because when I run sudo update-alternatives --list python, it does not list python 3.12. Can I delete the python 3.12 folder in the Downloads folder after the installation?

Soooo...what if I did the step you absolutely recommended not doing? Python Games won't launch, I'm guessing that has to do with the pip? I tried the echo "alias python=/usr...." and just entered the previous version of python (3.7)..."No such file or directory" (3.7.3 originally installed, downloaded 3.12.1)

why do you need this new version, if the default version is still the same?

beacuse it can produce troubles when you run an old Python code with a new Pyhtonversion.
