I went to see Tom Jones perform at The Circle Star Theater in 1981. I was in maybe 3rd or 4th row from the stage ... maybe thirty feet away from the stage, and he has so much natural power in his voice, he did not need a P.A. system, I could hear him just fine from the stage no matter what volume the band played in.
you should listen to "With these hands" and "Just you and Me" and finally "The Rose". they are his best songs in my opinion. I grew up listening to Tom Jones every day and I went to all his concerts in the 70's. Loved Tom Jones. Power house vocals and sexy as hell!!!
You guys should try to find an interview with TJ. He has a pretty thick Welsh accent in his speaking voice, It makes me appreciate how different his singing is.
