Hi, my father in law is a POS, but besides that he has a 2007 Honda jazz and recently, yesterday to be exact went off on one at my other half that the rear brake discs were rusty on his beloved Honda POS because she didn't essentially perform an emergency stop at every junction. I told him it was due to the discs being original parts and they seem to rust worse and that the hand brake barely holds on the flattest of surfaces, never mind a hill. It travels well past 7 clicks and has for over a decade. Can you tell me what i need to do to sort this problem. Because he's supposedly changed the discs and pads and it's still not holding on the handbrake properly. Also can you, or anyone reading this, answer a second question, he believes the car needs to be driven in 3rd gear everywhere, including the motorway, because the oil doesn't circulate well in these honda engines. Apparently a Honda engineer told him so but I can't find a single mention of it, so is there any truth to it?. Thanks for your help.
@@Mark_Something-Ermm-Yeah the jazz and the civic both suffer from poor handbrake performance. The car should be driven with the least engine revs, as far as I'm concerned, if you want decent economy. The engines do rev well, if you push them but you'll just use more fuel. Will you be trying to adjust the brakes to improve the performance?
