    I have a mafell kss300 cutsaw with guides for over 10 years. I've used it on flooring, kitchen panels with zero break out, cut down painted doors with no break out, all sorts.. expensive tools but well thought out, well built and yes i got a fancy box.

    I have had this for about a month and a half now. It is a very, very nice router. I do have a Festool OF1010 and I have not used it since I got the Mafell, even if it too is a very nice router. The ergonomics and workflow of the Mafell is very intuitive and the power is very good for such a small machine. Dust collection is better than on Festool and everything about it is nice. The best feature is - of course - the toolless bit change which is actually a bit of game changer. Going between router bits is very fast and no more awkward fiddling with spanners is bliss. Further down the road I can see myself adding one more router since I made a composite sliding base for circle routing and it is pretty much permanently on the machine. I have since I got the Mafell sold off two routers and will possibly sell of the Festool too, and simply get one more LO55. I am on the Bosch/Mafell rails so it would make sense.

    Hi 👋, that looks like another great Mafell machine, top quality machine, yes it is expensive, but as well worth the money, I had 24 floor rafters to install in my very old moulin / mill, 100x250 , I made a jig similar to a Arunda to make dovetail joints, I used my Festool 2200 , it was not enough, So I went out and purchased the Mafell lo65 ce , Another excellent bit of kit, that did not struggle, And I already have their door lock mortising machine, Jigsaw, and the chainsaw mortise machine, on the Lo55 it has the lever tool change mechanism that is used on the router table, from Sauters , another excellent bit of kit, Phil from the moulin France

    That's the main difference between Festool and Mafell. The latter one gives you a well designed, fully functional system with the ability to expand it with third party accessories.
    While Festool charges you £25 for a set of proprietary adhesive pads.

    • @rocketmunkey1
      @rocketmunkey1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Yes Festool hike their prices by stealth, they preclude essential accessories which would cost them single digit pounds to add to the box and sell them as optional extras at extortionate prices, just look at the price of their drill attachments £120 for a right angle adapter another £120 for an offset adapter which Bosch and Milwaukee put in the box.
      Mafell at first glance cost slightly more, but when you add in the cost of all the extras Festool is the most expensive. and their motors are underpowered compared to Mafell's That said I do love my HKC55 just wish I knew about the Festool accessory tax before I invested, I had to spend another £70 on a dust bag and a fence which should have been including as standard, not to mention a Grand I spent on batteries chargers and rails not that I expect those things to be standard.

Tech companies cant really be luxury brands because tech depreciates, whilst genuine luxury appreciates. And there is no place for luxury / fashion in the construction industry, only quality and durability, festool has a bit of that but there is now an increasing over emphasis on fashion, thanks to cash rich amateur hobbyists with youtube channels. Mafell is purely about quality and durability, lets just hope the hipsters don't cotton on and effect the way Mafell does business

      I agree, Heiko's review is excellent. The by far biggest fail of the machine is how it handles drilling those long line of holes for the pins carrying boards inside a cupboard. Die "Lochreihen". Pulling a pin up on the jig that rides or slides on the rail guide is a big no go. Festool's solution to use a comfortable Wippe / rocker is a much, much better solution. If you do cupboards and cabinets definitely take your time to test that feature before you buy.
