Hi Adam! Great video. I was wondering why my anchor link doesn't work when I'm on another page. I've tried both ways with the css id and anchor menu option on element however they both don't work. All it does is add the #name of the css id at the end of the slug when I'm on a different page. I'm using the free version of Astra as a theme. Thanks
Thank you!!! I have been searching for how to create anchor links on a homepage but what I have been seeing are vidoes about doing them within posts.. This is awesome!!
Thank you for the video! I have a question: I am using Elementor to build a multi page website. On the landing page I have a couple of Anchors linked to the menu, and another couple in another page. The problem I'm having is that the menu item brings me to the Anchor only if I'm already on the page where the Anchor is located but doesn't work if I click on it from another page. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you!
amazingly helpful! thank you very much i do have a problem with this still that i dont know how to solve: intsed of nicely sliding down to the position it teleports me there as a straight jump, very bad for the eyes... is there a way to solve it with some data im missing??
Hi Adam. Please help me with the following question. I need to link some widgets and buttons on my home page to another scrolling sections on another pages Thanks
Thanks for the information, but I was looking for something else. I made a List of Contents on the top of a post, and I want readers to navigate to the paragraph when they click on that particular topic in the list of contents. Can you please show how to do that. I'm new to Wordpress. And I found your videos very Helpfull
I followed your instructions and it worked! Sort of. I put the links in a drop down as a submenu and they do go where I want them to. There is no name in the drop down list. Just empty boxes that when clicked go where I want them to. Any suggestions?
Hi Adam. I followed this tutorial and went with the custom link menu page "way". My menu link works on the homepage to direct to the section I want (which is also on the home). However, when I click on other pages of the site, the custom menu link does not redirect back to that specific section of the homepage. I see the correct browser URL with the "#contact" but it just doesn't go. What could be the issue here?
Thanks for this. I'm trying to add a link from a description page containing a gallery and text about a product that will take a customer directly to the product for a woocommerce store. Will this work for that?
Hi Adam, thanks for making this video. As I clicked on the anchor link, it did jump to the section desire. However, I couldn't scroll back up to the top. May I know what might have caused this?
Thank You Adam for your great tutorial, I’ve watched this several times and still can’t “for the life of me” get the link to work when I’m on another page! What am I missing? Please help thanks 20/03/2019
From another page you need the full URL. Eg if anchor link is #packages, from another page you need to link to, as an example: domain.com/pagename#packages
@@deanontheinterwebs Hi, I need your help. I have already followed the video and created a custom link, it is showing in my nav menu. However, when I click on it nothing happens. Please help.
Thanks for the above information. But how do I achieve this particular task : By clicking on TAB element (have 3 tabs), should change the photos in another section? Each TAB shows different pictures on click.

Hi Adam, great tutorial :) Would you shed a light on how to use anchor links in the main menu of a non-one-page website? Basically, I have a website where all menu items are home page sections but one is a separate "Our Projects" page. Once there, the custom links don't work...

I need help with this problem also Adam, the video says it doesn't matter what page you are on, but if you are not on the page with the anchor it wont jump to the specified section and page. Im using it in the main menu.
Hi, thank you. This video saved me from hours of frustration! However, my problem now is that I actually linked a sub-header to scroll down to specific section of a page. When I click on the subheader from the menu, it doesn't link to the section directly. I have to click on the header to bring me to the page and then click on the subheader to bring me to the section that I want. Do you have a solution for this problem? Thank you in advance.
Thank you so much man! What if I want to do this with an image in a circle? Like different places in a circle, I click and go to different section of the page. Can you make a video about it? or maybe share some tips? Thanks!
Adam, can you recommend a simple WordPress TOC plug? Or I guess I do have Elementor built into my theme but I'm not sure - from what you showed in this video, can I accomplish the TOC for blog posts? I did try to do the anchor text code but it jumped to the wrong spot. Thanks!

Not possible because Wordpress sucks

You mean how I do it in the CSS ID in the advanced section of my page builder? I find it easier to get it right to the location that I want.

From another page you need the full URL. Eg if anchor link is #packages, from another page you need to link to, as an example: domain.com/pagename#packages
Or if it is the home page, as an example, it would be: domain.com/#packages -- using the same example.
