    Thank-you for your video. I have watched many of your tutoial videos. I created a "jump to recipe" button with html elementor widget. In the button are 3 recipes to select and jump to. My problem is instead instantly jumping it scrolls down (too much scrolling) and how do I fix it where it doesn't scroll, but instantly jumps to the recipe? I used the advance in elementor and entered where I wanted it to jump.

    • @wplearninglab

      Yep it does! Once you have the anchor created you can put the link to it anywhere. On the same, on other pages, in the menu system, in text links, in buttoms, on other websites, on social media, in emails. Anywhere you can put a link :)

    Hi, thanks for the tip. However, it is often the case that the section is then a little bit 'cut-off'. It would be great to start the section 10-20 px heigher... any chance you have a javascript which provides that anchor?

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michael,
      That'll happen if you have a sticky menu system that comes down the page with you. The easiest solution is to put the anchor a little bit higher on the page. I don't have any JS for that handy, but I'm sure if you Google it you'll find lots of options.

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Philip,
      I don't know off the top of my head, but my feeling is you can't. The filters are built into the gallery widget. But the filters are being applied to a CSS class or ID that you can find by using the Inspector. Then you can apply your own CSS using the CSS field in Elementor Pro.

    Hey Champ
    Excellent video, thank for sharing. I never actually built links like this and always wondered how you get to a specific part of the page after clicking on a link. Now I know.
    I do have one problem though, I am adding hypertext links and after making the link live, the text in the editor actually converts to an underscore, so we have missing text with an underscore in place. I have never experienced this in Elementor. Would you know how to solve this ?

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Peter,
      When you say "hypertext links" do you mean HTML links using the a tag?
      When you try to highlight the link does the text of the link appear in the highlighting?

    I've created a one-page WordPress website. At the top, I have an anchor button intended to take users to the bottom of the page. However, during the initial load when the website is not fully rendered, it halts during scrolling at the incorrect section. Could you help improve this issue?

    Is it possible to scroll down to specific section from a button in menu, but when you're on a different page, still possible to use that same menu button to go to specific section in 1st page?
    thanks

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use absolute links in the menu buttons it should work. For example, the link in the button could be YourDomain.com/Page1#Section. That will take you to that section on Page 1 no matter which page the menu button is on, even if it's on Page 1.
      I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good question Ali. Where you place the anchor text on the page you're jumping to is the place where very the top of the page will scroll to. If the page is scrolling too far down, then you'll have to move the anchor text up higher on the page. It may take some trial and error, but keep moving the anchor text around and you'll find the right place.

    Hi - I want to create a jump link that selects a particular tab in a set of horizontal tabs on a page (or accordion for that matter). My efforts so far just take me to the first tab every time - won't select, say, the 4th tab. Any tips?

    • @cecilybc11
      @cecilybc11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BTW - I want to use this for external access - not just jumping around the site

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll probably have to use JavaScript to detect when that particular link with the anchor is clicked. The link click will take the user down to the section you've anchored to and the JavaScript will change the state of the tab or the accordion to open the one that you want. The JavaScript isn't complicated, but it'll be a challenge if you're not used to coding. There will be lots of code examples if you Google it.

      Hi Mariana,
      Yes, I've tried Elementor hosting service. In this video (th-cam.com/video/U0_PMB_yJYA/w-d-xo.html) I built a website using Elementor cloud (hosting). I don't have any data on how reliable it is, but it is expensive. Much more expensive than a good shared host like Siteground or a good dedicated hosting Cloudways.

    Can you make anchors jump to a specific place on another website?

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Charlene, you can as long as the other website has the anchors we created in this video. The anchors being the string of characters preceeded by the # tag; for example, #bob.

    Helpful, thank you. But it would have been clearer if both sections looked different. The original section with the link looks identical to the About section, initially a bit confusing.

    Bjorn; I have two questions which I check youtube but couldn't find relevant info about Anchor links. As you are a coder, you may enlight us.
    1ST: "how to make anchor links from a drop down header menu" . Okay here is a scenerio. We have a one page website that made with Gutenberg or Elementor and we have a header menu which have few drop down menu pages. How can we make Anchor links?
    2ND: "how to make anchor links from footer menu to top". I believe ton of people curious about this one too.
    May be you can make a seperate video that contains these two questions Bjorn and I belive they will get ton of views.
    Thanks in Advance Bjorn 👍👍

    how to do keep the link from opening a new tab to the link page?

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Brian,
      The method shown in the video should not open in a new tab. If the HTML a tag has the attribute target="blank" then link will open in a new tab. So you'll need to take out target="blank" or if you're using Elementor or another page builder there may be an "open in a new tab" option that you have to unselect.
      I hope that helps!

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kiarash,
      It shouldn't affect SEO negatively. It may in fact help with your SEO because these links will help your visitors go exactly where they want to go on your site, which could potentially increase pageview and time on page/site metrics for your site.
