He was trained as a contemporary dancer and brings a lot to group as far as dancing. I think he and J-Hope have helped the group elevate their dancing skills. Very full video here! Yes, you Jim-ined. You discovered V also. I think you’re right that BTS referenced the movie for Black Swan. I kept thinking they wouldn’t do that, but later read that they had. Similarly, TXT isn’t all about HP, but there is enough overlap with the concepts of adventure, running away, magic that HP imagery works to tell this part of their story. Sorry to tell you, I don’t think there’s more Harry Potter in TXT. I saw Taehyun and Beomgyu in a magazine photoshoot, each wearing their Hogwart colors, but that’s the only reference I’ve noticed.

As you see in a few comments, BTS and TXT are the only two bands under BigHit label. There's also one soloist under BigHit. BigHit stayed separate when it created Hybe, which several excellent Kpop groups belong to (under their own individual and smaller label companies). So, BTS and TXT are very close and BTS now thinks of TXT as their little brothers. I think it took a long time to get to that point since BTS was always busy touring, etc and TXT was working to exhaustion with training before their debut. It takes the phrase from Martha Graham, the legendary dancer, who once said a dancer dies twice, first when they stop dancing and it is more painful. Jimin wanted very much to dance barefoot in the video and he choreographed his dance part. He's so beautiful. The MV was filmed in a shuttered theater in Los Angeles at the same time they filmed "On" Kinetic Manifesto at the Sepulveda Dam.
I love Black Swan so much. I got the chance to go to a BTS concert and saw them perform this. I literally cried, it was so beautiful and 9 and 3 quarters is a must to always listen to. "A dancers dies twice, once when they stop dancing and this is the most painful death". You'll also see the 'Shadow' that's dancing which is a Psychological concept of the mind were our fears, dark thought and the thing we don't want other to know about us are hid. The Shadow at the end falls down to nothing which represents that fear of losing their passion for their art being conquered. Yes to Black Swan the film reference. BTS were definitely drawing on themes from the Black Swan movie as well as adding their own spin on things. This song is from Map of the Soul: 7, which draws on Jung’s Map of the Soul and his psychological archetypes like the persona, ego, shadow, etc. In this MV you can see they’re playing with this idea of the shadow, which is the less appealing side of ourselves that we hide from others. In Black Swan the movie, from what I can remember, the main character plays the lead role of Swan Lake, Odette, which requires playing a white swan and a black swan. You’ll notice BTS have two sets of outfits, one white, and one black, but even with their white outfits they have some black element to them, like they can’t quite rid themselves of the black swan/shadow. I see others have already mentioned the quote from Martha Graham. There are a few different angles to examine this song from, which is no doubt part of why it’s such a fandom favourite.

Just for your info: BTS' works are not only from their own experiences but also inspiations from arts, classic books, philosophers & psychologist. There are university professors from different countries, economists and others professional specialist get together have forums (already 3 yrs in a row) and talk about everything about BTS, lyric meanings, their influence, success without going thru general routes, econimic bringings, bringing new trends in music business and history..... That is actually incorrect. Jimin had roughly the same amount of experience with both genres (hip-hop/contemporary before joining BH.

It has that emotional theme of an artist fear for losing their passion for what they do. With this song BTS dives deep into their inner selves as artists and faces the shadows they had once hidden. The song lends voice to their fears that one day music will no longer be able to move or touch them. The very moment they come face to face with the ‘Black Swan’ within themselves, however, they are stricken with a paradoxical realization that music is all they have. It is a confession of an artist who has truly learned what music means to himself. Black Swan: Mainly written by RM, the one you like, is about their fears of losing all passion for music, either writing it or performing on stage. It's also based on a quote by Martha Graham who was an important figure in the world of modern dance, "A dancer dies twice. Once when they stop dancing and this death is more painful." Fun fact: Before BTS began doing it, it wasn't normal at all for Korean idol groups to release songs with deeper meanings, discuss serious topics in their songs, acknowledge issues of vulnerability like burnout, depression or mental illness. It wasn't normal for idols to open up about their personal troubles at all. In fact, doing so got some idols thrown out of their companies. It was also not normal or common to have a running storyline/theme that is carried through multiple albums and/or MVs and songs. This song, its lyrics and MV are part of the "Shadow" portion of BTS's Map of the Soul era, in which they released albums and songs based on Carl Jung's theories regarding the Persona, Shadow, and Ego. TXT indeed has their storyline and concept and they have my one of the fav concept the concept of growing up
1) crown (debut) was like teenager and fresh vibe cute and innocent (as txt were teenager themselves too at that time)
2) run away ( school theme) at the same time the realization of growing up and pain
3) can't you see me ( dark theme) it tackles the betray, promises...,.
4) blue hour ( it might seems happy song but it isn't) it's a song where they want to stay young forever as innocent child , they don't want to grow up gradually, but at the same time welcoming their youth ~ you can see the opening and ending of this song is sad so the between song is just their imagination
5) love song : it's finally tackling the more reality of young people facing nowadays and they finally grow up
6) loser lover : it's the continuation of love song it tackles more reality through their MVs.
( although txt concept are of growing up but at the same time their story line so much unique )

As you see in a few comments, BTS and TXT are the only two bands under BigHit label. There's also one soloist under BigHit.
BigHit stayed separate when it created Hybe, which several excellent Kpop groups belong to (under their own individual and smaller label companies).
So, BTS and TXT are very close and BTS now thinks of TXT as their little brothers. I think it took a long time to get to that point since BTS was always busy touring, etc and TXT was working to exhaustion with training before their debut. But they are huge supporters of each other and it's super cute. I'll try to link a video of some of their interactions. We'll see if YT lets me. Haha. RM watched Black Swan multiple times before writing this song. The song is about the fear of running out of music to write when you no longer hear it in yourself. It takes the phrase from Martha Graham, the legendary dancer, who once said a dancer dies twice, first when they stop dancing and it is more painful. Jimin wanted very much to dance barefoot in the video and he choreographed his dance part. He's so beautiful. The MV was filmed in a shuttered theater in Los Angeles at the same time they filmed "On" Kinetic Manifesto at the Sepulveda Dam.
I love Black Swan so much. I got the chance to go to a BTS concert and saw them perform this. I literally cried, it was so beautiful and 9 and 3 quarters is a must to always listen to. I wanted to see TXT but couldn't. Anyways both dance practices are a must to watch and Black Swan is definitely one of the MVs i couldn't stop watching ☺️

You'll also see the 'Shadow' that's dancing which is a Psychological concept of the mind were our fears, dark thought and the thing we don't want other to know about us are hid. BTS were definitely drawing on themes from the Black Swan movie as well as adding their own spin on things. This song is from Map of the Soul: 7, which draws on Jung’s Map of the Soul and his psychological archetypes like the persona, ego, shadow, etc. In this MV you can see they’re playing with this idea of the shadow, which is the less appealing side of ourselves that we hide from others.
In Black Swan the movie, from what I can remember, the main character plays the lead role of Swan Lake, Odette, which requires playing a white swan and a black swan. You’ll notice BTS have two sets of outfits, one white, and one black, but even with their white outfits they have some black element to them, like they can’t quite rid themselves of the black swan/shadow.
I see others have already mentioned the quote from Martha Graham. There are a few different angles to examine this song from, which is no doubt part of why it’s such a fandom favourite.

There are university professors from different countries, economists and others professional specialist get together have forums (already 3 yrs in a row) and talk about everything about BTS, lyric meanings, their influence, success without going thru general routes, econimic bringings, bringing new trends in music business and history..... After BTS' success, just about every group follows/copies a lot of things what BTS've been doing, i.e. grandious stage productions, precise dance movements, having storylines, more English songs, trying more positive/deep/meaningful lyrics, combined Korean tradition concepts, communicating with their fans thru SNS...
