    I struggle finding time to read physical comics but with digital I have them all on my phone and can read them whenever I'm just killing time. Now I prefer digital for that reason. I've actually stopped looking at memes and now I just read comics haha

    I say read however you like, the purpose of comics is to enjoy reading. I see reading digital more convenient because you can carry it with you anywhere. But I'm also a fan of physical media as well.

    I collect physical copies and read the ones I'm really interested in. But if it's a whole run of something like hellblazer or something a valuable comic instead of potentially damaging it in the process of reading I will download it and read it on my phone. Instead of leaving Cheeto prints on my sentimental books.

    I applaud the owner for not hating on digital. That said, the whole touching and smelling thing is quite uh...ooh boy.
    Personally I buy and borrow digitally. If not for digital, I'd be out of the loop post 2009. I got over the need for floppies not long after I lost my employee discount around 98 or 99, went all trades around 01 or so. Stopped buying tons of trades via Amazon in 09. Fully embraced digital after Comixology had been around a bit. I'll never go back. In fact I'm considering splitting and scanning my Ikegami books since they aren't available digitally.
    *I'm horrible with the years outside of 09.*

    Digital for me definitely. I don't like getting ripped off JUST to read the origins of some of these characters. I mean, some of these origin issues run anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousands. I can't imagine a bigger waste of large sums of money than spending it on a comic book so I prefer just paying $5 a month to read an endless amount of comics. I'll keeps the tens of thousands of dollars in my savings for an actual neccesary purpose. The comic book industry is like the only industry that's tolerant of scalpers.

    I read digital on my 65" monitor. I read a lot of silver and copper. I don't read on tablets or phones, they is annoyingly too small.. I also put on the soundtrack to whatever I am reading. Star Trek is the best for this, because on TH-cam there is Star Trek background music, which matches the 70's tv show where its just a bunch of beeeping sound effects. Matches real well to the old comics I read. If I like the comic, then I buy it. I also buy covers I like and key issues. Keys to me not to anyone else. I always have at least 40 books I haven't read, that I read on planes, hotels and waiting rooms.

    • @fireguyryan9362
      @fireguyryan9362 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup I've always got my tablet with me, with at least 6 trades downloaded on the hard drive, so I can read without internet if I have to. But nowadays I'm also carrying both my tablet and my storefolio with ten fresh issues in it with me!

    I feel like the argument is basically the same as people had about ebooks/kindle first came about. Some people are going to go that route and there's nothing you can do about them. I, for example, prefer physical books. I read a lot of sci-fi and pulps from back in the day and part of the fun is having an old book that's been around the block. When I stop buying physical copies of books I'll probably have gone blind and be unable to read.
    If I read a digital copy of anything it is something I'm not sure of and I just wanted to check out to see if I want to buy.

    I don't know who to ask about this but I was just curious to see if you knew anything about the horror comic books from the 1950's being reprinted? Such as they did with the EC Tales from the Crypt comics in the early 1990's. Such as Chamber of chills, Dark Mysteries, Witches Tales, This Magazine is haunted, Thing, Web of Evil, Beware, Mister Mysteries, and many other series. I know that they are viewable on a web site called digital comics museum. and are available on CD format. But I was just wondering if there are any plans to reprint the horror comics that have inspired such horror movie legends such as, George A. Romero. Stephen King, R. L. Stine, West Craven, Tobe Hooper, and John Carpenter. Please let me know. Thank You.

  • @FrankBergdoll

    Personally, I'm huge into both formats: Digital allows me to have issues I will never purchase physically because I can't find or afford them and to read "gaps" of back-issues. This leads me to buy more monthly books as I develop an appreciation for the characters and stories.
    One other area that is fantastic are the reprint books. Omnibus, Absolutes, Archives, and Masterworks. These give the physical book and access to very expensive books.
    Just like the movies have improved sales, so does digital. It creates interest and access.

  • @MainHealerHere
    @MainHealerHere 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Digital for me. Sorry, getting to read the comic is going to always be better than not getting to read the comic at all. I can't remember how many times I've shopped for physical comics only to find out its significantly more expensive than it should be or that specific issue/chapter isn't available.

    Digital comics really suck, if you want to read off a regular computer screen, the words are smaller than other pages cause it's on a double splash page, you know how many people have to keep Up-grading ,if they want a touch screen, watching -Reading through the smart- phone, strain the Eyes. But I'll tell you something that was so funny, People today walk around with there faces in their phone, they forget to see where they walk, this lady was reading off her tablet , She step right in it, "Poo" Good thing she wasn't driving, 2-second was all it took to look, she keep walking with all that crap around her shoes, where-ever she went people will smell that. Digital Comic can't be good for comic book store, just like when they started digitally started putting regular novel-printed books to read in the tablets, two regular Books stores had to close, even a Barns & Noble was closed plus one comic book store had to close cause they weren't selling enough to cover their RENT, Now we have to go a few more extra miles to go to the next comic book store, start a new pull list all over again

      John Tha gamer they're a nice middle ground - an affordable way to collect lots of issues all in one. I personally don't want to own a physical copy unless it's a very high quality, expensive hardcover like a Marvel omnibus, or DC Absolute Editions. Only so much space on the shelf, after all. I'm too cheap for my own good sometimes.
