I saw you recommend using Better than Bouillon years ago and did that for awhile, it works pretty good. In the last couple years though I've switched to using chicken stock or bone broth for half my liquid needed in the rice cooker and I find it tastes better and has a better nutrient profile. Also seems to keep the rice more "hydrated" for longer compared to just straight water, similar to how Better than Bouillon does (I also usually add in an extra half cup or so of liquid compared to the recommendations shown on rice bags which helps with this too).
White rice is actually healthier than brown. The husk of the rice is full of arsenic and antinutrients like oxalates or phytic acid. + the amount of micronutrients in the husk is negligible in comparison with just white rice.. Rice is used as carbohydrate/calorie/energy source. Not micronutrient source. For micronutrients we are eating much more nutrients dense foods.. So white rice is the way to go. Basmati for regular use for lower GI and jasmine is ideal after training.. :)
parboiled is best. 80% of nutrients from brown rice, without the husk. google it. best of both worlds. pure white rice barely has any nutrients. huge bodybuilders uses white rice because they eat all the time and it has pretty much zero fibres etc. i don't eat white rice, just like i don't eat white bread. i want nutrient dense foods in my diet.
@@Dr.WhetFarts Yes parboiled has more micronutrients, but it is really hard to eat a lot of it in comparison with basmati for example.. I also want micronutrient dense foods in my diet, but without antinutrients, enzyme inhibitors etc.. Plants especially seeds and nuts have a lot of micronutrients on the paper. Same with foods like spinach etc.. But humans can't break down cellulose and due to phytic acid, oxalates etc.. you can't absorb minerals from foods like this. Once I had crazy poisoning from almonds!! From plants is good for micronutrients only ripe fruit. That is the only plant foods that are really for humans.. The best sources of micronutrients for humans are animal foods. things like egg yolks, meat/organ meat like liver.. Also sardines, fish roe etc.. Foods like this are loaded with micronutrients and are very easy to digest for humans.. Now I eat basically carnivore diet + only white rice and here and there some banana etc.. for carbs and potassium. So I don't have any antinutrients in my diet and it is great. Also lower fiber diet works much better for me.. No more seeds and nuts or things like spinach which is loaded with oxalates. Great for kidney stones..
With all the resistant starches is it okay to eat cold for days when your on the road? Always avoided eating cold rice for possible digestive complications
Chris Tuttle is the MAN........
I love basmati rice, that’s my favorite. I could live off basmati rice and a protein forever
I just purchased that rice cooker thanks to Chris. It should arrive tomorrow and I hope it works. Luckily, I only paid $25. 😅😊
Rice will last perfect in the fridge for 5 days if you rinse it with cold water after cooking

you need to rinse the rice. says on the package. both on the steamer and on the rice itself.
Uhhh no it doesn't ! None of the brands say rinse the rice before cooking ! Actually, you shouldn't rinse rice as it washes away nutrients.
Rice cooker is mans best friend ...nothing like white rice

Left over rice = fried rice using coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.

Take a digestive enzyme cap with it.

Only if if you're feeding it to your family. 😀
