Thank you so much for this wonderful journey, you covered all the basses with the beauty of your narrative and photography. while i'm to old to travel as I did in my life I still feel the joy and thrills thru folks as your self provide me on TH-cam. I particularly liked the " One small Step for man" reference. Thank you again and bon voyage.

Glad you enjoyed it! I started making films of my travels so that when I can't travel anymore, I can watch some of them and remember the interesting trips that I've been blessed to make.

It was indeed a wonderful voyage. If you're interested the company has introduced a new ship into service. Thanks for commenting.

What an excellent video of a seldom seen region of the world. Great photography and I really liked your narration - no hype - you let the nature and the culture speak for themselves.

Wow agree with the comments below, what a tour around the most beautiful islands in the world! And so interesting seeing how cargo traffic works across the islands too. You were not detached from the locals as it's with cruises normally, helping them get their goodies :)

Indeed, a voyage on this working freighter is a great way to see some aspects of island life in the Marquesas.

Very well done and comprehensive! 4 months ago I went to Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa, Tahuata, and Fatu Hiva. Missed Ua Pou. But worked in Taputapuatea on the island of Raiatea in the Society Islands. all with Air Tahiti (and ferry to Fatu Hiva). Wonderful places and had some time for hikes and stays with locals. Wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of taking the Aranui vs. flying. Might take the Aranui to Pitcairn in a year or two. Thanks again.

Glad that you enjoyed it. If you want a trip with an arranged itinerary, then a ship like the Aranui 5 is the way to go. However, if you want to move to your own itinerary, then air or inter-island boat would be better.

@@tletter Thanks for the response. Yes, I'm a pretty independent traveler and I probably got to spend more time on each island in the way I visited. On the downside, I could not work Ua Pou into my schedule and did not find all the hidden tikis (but some of them anyway). Oh well, so grateful for all the wonderful things I did work in, it's impossible to see everything.
