- I travel from Little Italy to the Brooklyn Bridge Walkway Entrance on the Brooklyn side via the NYC Subway. I take the J train at Canal Street, and change to the C train at Fulton Street for the High Street station.

Thank you! You do a terrific job making these videos! In early 1960's Brooklyn, my "hobby" was riding the subways and photographing subway cars. We moved to California in 1967. It's amazing how much the NYC Subway System has changed over the years! The modern subway cars in NY look very much like the Los Angeles subway cars. btw, I love Italian food! Los Angeles restaurants have improved, but nothing compares to New York! ;))
My pleasure! The newer NYC subway cars are similar to the light rail trains on the LA Metro, the Red Line subway I rode still used older cars.

9:04 notice how quiet it is down there in the subway station is the coolest thing
Its not always quiet. When I was taking the C from Brooklyn back into Manhattan yesterday there was absolutely insanely backed up traffic along Fulton Street (the C runs under Fulton in Brooklyn) due to the Marathon and you could hear a near continuous stream of horns from the unmoving cars above in the station. Was quite amusing to think they weren't going anywhere while my train was about to arrive to whisk me off to Manhattan. There was nothing they could do up there, pure gridlock both along Fulton and all crossing streets in that part of Brooklyn.

27:20 ....... The walls are curved because that creates a stronger structure than a flat planar wall.
Brooklyn and Queens are on Long Island which is a glacial moraine consisting of an aggregate of sand, silt, clay, pebbles and loose rocks which were deposited over the last Ice Age.
Without solid bedrock to brace the walls against, (like what Manhattan, Bronx and New Jersy have), these walls must bow into the aggregate not unlike how a dam bows upriver or into the side where the water accumulates.

12:31-At least these displays give out the info when the train comes, and *_nothing else but that_* , here in Toronto they give out info and advertising, as well as news, but I'm not sure if they give out accurate arrival info at a station.

Are the subways in New York running all night, or is there a closure time ??

They usually run 24 hours everyday. Sometimes they’ll close a line for maintenance or cleaning, but generally you can catch a train at almost any hour of the day
They run all night at almost full capacity. Maybe why they are the dirtiest trains in the US although they are usually on time and relatively efficient

Wonder why NYC doesn't implement screen platform doors on their metro like other countries. It will make the metro a lot cleaner, safer, and modern looking...
They have planned it and tested it a few times.

Not jkust clean it up, but fully renovate it from top to bottom (study how cities like [if I may be so bold] Toronto, London, Tokyo, Seoul, etc. build and design the subway stations in those cities.)
