It's pretty simple to delete an egr even on newer cars there are people who can make them run without it by programming the ecu and the check engine light won't come on and the car can run without it i have 2 friends who have done that, one guy paid a person 100€ to do it on his 2003 mercedes and the other who has a 2015 Volvo V70 did the thing all on his own and we are planning to do that on my 2011 V70 and his skoda octavia, it won't affect gas engines compared to diesels so i'd always recommend egr delete on diesels for better fuel economy and keeping the oil cleaner for longer periods of time
@@Pilariepa That's the one, think 30 mins would suffice. Give a few sensors a clean, fit it all back up, let her idle for 20-30 mins then take her for a spin👍
EGRs in diesels are especially detrimental since diesel fuel creates so much carbon which is why they blow black smoke. And you CCV feeds back into your intake also, this created the nastiest carbon build up imaginable and can cause a major loss in power once you cake your valves up with it. If you own a diesel, make sure to get it hot every now and then to aid in burning some of it off.
tbh keeping EGR is not for yourself or for the car engine, but morely for the government and enviroment. well the exhaust might get heater, but its already getting 350oC / 700 oF keeping it is like eating your own shit to reduce waste (someone said on YT)
Does your small brain have the power to contemplate what good they do and how bad our environment would get with companies being able to do whatever they want? Dumping whatever, whereever they want? idiot.
DONT egr delete clean inlet manifold & valves properly get a custom tune a catch can & find a mechanic that knows how to do the job correctly too many on here don't have a clue..
And how much does this cost for an inlet clean and strip down of ya cylinder head for valve clean? Most cars with a proper tune burn cleaner with egr delete
@@roryjames2151 NO THEY DONT.. If they don't have a catch can they gum up most don't get the inlet manifold & valves properly clean the carbon on the valves gets rock hard egr delete is iileagal. The rubbish they use to clean is worthless. If you can't do the job yourself then don't open the hood.
@@neilasd3043so how does it work is every engine the same. From what I can figure out how does an open or closed erg affect fuel burning, since it can be open when cruising, but closed when giving it a bit of shit on the pedal, the erg does not supply any thing to do with fuel mixture, so when closed if driving hard no difference, and if closed when cruising, how does it affect fuel/air mixture, this is a ? at the end as trying to figure out weather to use a erg delete cable, as when I read about blanking plate, not so much on having to do a retune
Exhaust comes out cooler with an egr valve. It sends it I the engine hotter than air intake alone. But because all the oxygen was suckednout before cycling it back through, it comes out cooler. Scott Kilmer I think is his name. He explains it well. It's chemistry, not common sense

Nice video! I’m doing an EGR delete on my 24 foot 4x4 RV, so wish me luck it will run better and achieve better mpg stats
Thanks! Good luck with the EGR delete, man! Let me know how it goes!

any update?
EGR is killing engines. I need to do this with my TDI, along with DPF, and get 10-15mpg back
What’s DPF

That's a MUST for TDI's those little diesels are tanks, I love mine .
2001 Dodge neon non emission state. No reason at all to keep an EGR in place unless you like your engine breathing its own crap.

Best explanation of EGR - eating your own shit so that you don't loose calories.
In regards to the engine light, just do an ECU reset 👍
Hard reset? by unpluging the batery for one night?
Righ?

Can i delete only dpf and def without deleting the egr?
He didn't mention that EGR turns off when you mash the gas. This is misinforming.
Your E and F in your fuel gauge is mixed up
All I hear are gains as long as you get the proper tune
Keep it unless your drag racing which is short run time.
Great point!
Absolutely perfect video
