I don’t think his time at Chelsea is true reflection of him as a coach. Yes he fudged it in the post match interviews with ‘the boys did well’ whenever we lost, but he’s clearly a talented coach. He turned Brighton into a real force after they’d spent years under Houghton barely staying up with horrible football. I do wish people in this would stop mickey taking with our English coaches. It’s shameful and disgraceful. People should give him more support and wish to see him do well. There’s a nastiness in our culture that doesn’t exist in Spain, Italy, Germany. We worship Guardiola and Klopp like gods, then treat English coaches to the Graham Taylor ‘turnip’ treatment. It’s bigotry actually.

We had Graham Potter at Swansea for a year and we played the most exciting dynamic football (Michu excepted) ever. Not so good on Defence but he would inherit Southgate's boring strategies there.
When I heard that Gareth Southgate had resigned, I said straightaway my first choice would be Graham Potter, he’s got a very good track record except with Chelsea, but it doesn’t seem to be ending well whoever goes there at the moment. He’s a bit like Southgate, he’s a very intelligent man and I think he would work along very well with the FA and keep all the changes that Southgate made.
