Don't you look silly now. A team crippled by injuries, without any fit strikers is still third.Brian Clough said a long time ago 'There is so much crap talked about tactics by people who would barely know how to win at dominos'. 2:06
The comments 'cannot f**king wait for this manager to leave' are frankly laughable. The guy has been dealt a very tough hand. Teams bigger, richer and better than us have gone down consecutively. Or struggled and stayed down. Parker lost an entire squad - most of which at the END of the window. And we are very hard to beat, winning big games and have plenty of good players still missing. Burnley fans have become spoilt beyond belief and are now acting it!
Premature rant Mike, Scott Parker needs time, he had little time to buy replacements when we sold off our better players and had to sign from those then available. We are still 3rd in the championship with an excellent defence, goals will come in the New Year, don’t lose hope.
He’s been in place for six months. He’s had 3 1/2 months with this exact squad. We’ve been repeatedly told goals will be coming and well, they aren’t. Compare his progress with his two predecessors. He’s not even close to either of them. Dyche lost his top scorer and didn’t have a Zian Fleming to replace him. Scott Arfield was a trialist looking for a job after being released by Huddersfield, not Jeremy Sarmiento with PL experience. But the main thing, we don’t look like we are improving. If we were creating chances and missing them then everyone would be OK with it. We fail the eye test so very badly - we don’t look like a 3rd place team in any way.
Opposing fans used to ask how we could watch Dycheball all the time. I never understood that and was always entertained watching. Under Kompany it could be amazing, but honestly large parts of games were dull. This is truly dreadful. I hardly get to game, and my wife offered to get a ticket as a Christmas present. Previously I would have leapt at the chance. Not now - I’d much rather have a different present. I can’t even be arsed to watch us on the telly!
Sunderland are playing lovely attacking football. The fact that we are ahead of you in the table while playing this lumpen rubbish makes me feel guilty!
Good watch as always Mike. I think the summer window does give him an excuse to a certain extent, our league position and our results aren't terrible, but it's difficult not to keep coming back to the fact that it's boring and shite to watch.
It occurred to me when watching it back and talking at the end about only checking to see the result that this is the ultimate in the “results vs philosophy” debate. Kompany on one extreme, Parker on the other, Dyche somewhere in between.
Utterly pathetic. SP has managed what was a horrendous situation, you sound borderline unhinged mate, without giving any context to the situation... Who would you play to score goals? The forwards we have available aren't up to it.
Fully agree. This is the worst style of "football" I've seen in many a year. You don't need to have the best players in the division to create proper goalscoring opportunities. Football on a whole is drab and boring with everyone trying to copy Pep's extremely dull/robotic/sterile football. But to barely create chances is on Parker's coaching or lack of.
Set patterns of play drilled into players is the way, really. Or the chaos of Dycheball - which was actually quite rigid in its structure. But then all Arteta is doing at corners is what Dyche got criticised for, so it's in the eye of the beholder. But Parkerball is... wait for the other team to make a mistake and hope to capitalise.
It's hard to disagree with any of that. It's hard to explain to people outside of the Burnley bubble that despite being third in the league, it's painful viewing, and something needs to change. It sounds like we are entitled or something. I'm like you regarding managers; I usually back them all the way. I think the fans, in general, have been very patient; we were with Dyche, we have been with ALK, and we were with Kompany, even during last season. But I think Parker was so lucky against Swansea; that last-minute penalty saved him from being booed off the field. I think we will hear 'Parker Out' chants filtering into the stadium before the end of January. I've not heard that since Brian Laws. I don't even think the players are that bothered about him. We've seen players 'run through brick walls' for the likes of Kompany, Dyche and Coyle in the past... I don't see it with this lot and this manager.
State of you in bred bastids. Had a decade of punching above your weight. Which you still are by being in 3rd. Wint be long until the mortgage payments and years in the championship and you will be back to 12k attendances. 😅
I got peltors for moaning about Parker ball . It is truly shite and he was not sacked by bruge 12 games in for nothing . I won’t bother going until he is potted .
He knew the deal coming in. Besides - if the excellent defensive solidity is because of him, then the lack of attacking threat is him too. It can’t be one and not the other.
Most managers in this league would have given their right arm to have inherited the budget and squad Parker has!... Most teams in the Championship would also have a fantastic defensive record with Esteve at the back and I also think we spent the most money in this league during the summer... We also have one of, if not the most valuable squad in the Championship... To allude that Parker has been given a bad hand is factually incorrect and just plain and utter nonsense!
No he didn't. Last night in the fan forum Alan said what happened in the last week of the window was not part of the plan and not expected. They expected to lose 3-5 players max, not the entire squad.
Well Mike , like many thousands of Clarets, you have just about had enough of this game of snakes and ladders football that we are now witnessing . Along with yourself and many of our fanbase we are having to watch ,( when we can be bothered ) a team that can not create enough entertainment to outdo watching paint dry ! PLEASE HELP ! U.T.C
I left Tuesday on 80 minutes along with hundreds of other Clarets. I know Alan pace and the board will get rid of Parker should he not deliver. To us it’s entertainment as well as results. To the Board it’s a results and financial interest. If Parker doesn’t get us going then he will be going. UTC

I’m willing to bet your house that you didn’t have that written before 68 minutes of today’s game had passed.

Really admire your passion and can understand your frustration. Try supporting my Team Sunderland and you will know what frustration is my friend 😢

Good rant. Parker could start by playing people in their best positions.
Sheff Utd will DESTROY us just wait!!! They have more flair on their u21 than our starting 11
Don't know much about the clarets .but I see the scorelines
My friend there is nothing crazy about it. It's like anti football at present; no entertainment value at all. It's a form of torture.
Ah.. the good old "anti-football" chant. I miss singing that.

If I had carried on, I’d probably have mentioned that he’s had eight more games than he had at Bruges.
I’m not sure that we can say this is Parker’s squad though can we? He got shafted in my opinion
He knew the deal coming in.

“Snakes and ladders football”. Oh, that’s *very* good!
Brilliant rant and summation, hardly took a breath or consulted a script. Well done.
I never have a script.
Wish we could end him now and get some in who can use January to get new players and change the mindset

well said mate i agree
Unfair and unbalanced.
