Great Video, but I don't really understand your logic - Your test strip tested a little bit lighter than the lowest reading on your test strip. Why would you lower the setting for your hardness from 30 to 25? Wouldn't that make your water even softer? Maybe I'm reading the manual wrong, but isn't that the 'desired' softness that you are setting your softener for?

Can a water softener be set to soften water too much ? I’m topping up a bag a month
Changing the hardness doesn’t give u softer water, it only changes how often your softener will recharge harder setting: more often recharge
Do you mean,, higher number of hardness setting will do more frequent recharge? Sorry, I am confused,, please let me know, thanks!

No, the harness setting is supposed to match the hardness of the water going into the softener.
