6:14 I believe you meant to say that you hope the fuses DO blow. Louis Rossman often talks about a seller of fuses on Amazon that seem to have a problem with not blowing when they should.
Good choice on the Qanba stick. I've got 3 of the 8bitdo sticks and ordered 3 sets of alternate Qanba buttons (x8) for £16.50 each, absolute bargain - Plus they are mechanical keyboard switch type. Disgusted as I paid £6 per button (£48!) for Crown mechanical arcade buttons from Arcadeworld (which the shop has strangely disappeared) - So effectively 3 sets of Qanba mechanicals for the price of 1 set of Crown mechanical buttons from UK. Mental. Ordered the same style ball as well. I admire your blue ball, but I had to go to the next level and get mine hammered purple, ooooooooo errrrrrrrr.
@@MarkFixesStuff Ahhh you've given away your surprise as I don't think you mentioned that project in the video - I'll keep it super secret. Think you are probably wise to make a new controller for the Coleco though, that original looks unwieldy. 3D printing or making out of a nice bit of wood? I saw your stick on Aliexpress, was on sale for £20 (original price was £33'ish), I was tempted to pick it up and drop in on the 8bitdo, but if I remember correct I wasn't 100% on the depth for fitting, plus my gates weren't compatible (I just put octagonal in everything through habit) - The latter is a stupid reason I know. You can get 2lb, 4lb etc springs if you find it too light. Simple install as well. I've got 4lb springs in 2 of mine but only because they have metal bat tops, was recommended by the manufacturer to counteract the weight. Joystick wise I went the cheap/quick/easy way of just replacing the microswitches on the board, they just drop in/direct replacements/no soldering - 1 has Omron, 1 has cherry and the other has Sanwa. You can get different size actuators (plastic bit bottom of stick at the c-clip) but that's getting into the weeds at that point. Pretty sure I changed 1 of mine, but couldn't tell you which one, so that shows how little difference it actually makes. Dunno how you don't like the clicky-ness 😲 Its like sacrilegious. I had blue keyboard microswitches in those Crown buttons previous, you would have cried at the excessive volume of the click
@@googleboughtmee Yeah, I am not too sure what happened to them as i've used them quite a few times over the years. I first noticed they closed about 3-4 months ago, website was just gone. They were one of the few retailers in the UK I found for Crown mechanical buttons at a semi reasonable price (£6 a button!), albeit I have now moved over to Qanba mechanical (wayyyyy cheaper, actually a better feel and more colour options). If Mark is bothered by the noise (given he chose the silent stick), the Qanba mechanicals come with a silencing pad, can be removed if you want them louder.
