I left Coke for beer distributor. Went from dealing with mostly convenient store to restaurants and I love it! Although Coke was a good first CDL job there is much more money in beer than Coke/Pepsi!
Love your videos brother. I work for sysco for just over a year now. I’m loving the food service game! Work 4 days then home for 3. Plus since I start at 2 am I’m home by like 3 pm. I do about 1300 pieces a day but 48 foot trailer barely any digging and just 8 stops. Love this job!!
I'd say pepsi is the best touch freight company in Nashville. Paid hourly with OT after 40 and all the trailers have lift gates and electric pallet jacks. No ramps, no stairs. Some stops you don't even have to stock. Just drop whole pallet off and done. Not the best trucks though.
I work for Budweiser NYC, and I've been with the company for 8 months. The beer industry can really take a toll on your body, and it's not worth the money. I've already acquired my tanker and hazmat endorsements , and I'm eagerly looking forward to moving on. Patience is key!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm at a beer company right now, my first cdl job. It's physical but the labor is not that hard. But what I don't like so far is the checking part, customers taking their sweet time to get to you! That literally adds damn near a 1 and half hour to your day alone. And also the rotating and dates on the beer but other than that it's not bad.
Exactly this. I’ve been driving for a beer company for close to a year now. I really don’t mind the physical part of the job. It’s the damn customers taking forever and having to grab checks. If I could just drop the beer and go the job honestly wouldn’t be too bad.
Yeah it can be very nerve wrecking, especially when your supervisor is asking what took so long, Publix took almost two hours to check me in once! It's ridiculous!@@jakelowe1658
All these are facts ! I hated waiting, some didn’t have the money , they don’t open on time , customers in your way , merchandising some vendors will get mad if you in there way , having to double back because they didn’t have Check ready early in am , yea I had to leave beverage alone lol
Also with beverages, especially beer delivery you will have to rotate product and build display and even argue with customers over discounted prices on the invoice and have to maintain your integrity
I’ve done beer, Coca Cola and now I’ve been in food service 3 years. Honestly if you pushing beverage and you in need of more $ just come to food. A lot of negative people say food service ain’t it but honestly you working just as or even harder doing beverage.
Just started training with gordon im on my first week i need to say your videos help me alot your tips for scanning and stacking on hand truck going down the ramp all of that came in handy.
I didn’t want to have to do it but I just quit PepsiCo yesterday. I didn’t know you can get carpal Tunnel from it. Granted I did work in an office for almost 10 years but I’ve been out of that industry for a while and never had carpal tunnel. Only worked for PepsiCo for a month.
Been at Harbor Dist. (SoCal) My first driving gig…been there for a year now. When the routing is shit…the day drags when your trailer is loaded. I’m 50/50 on kegs and cases. Hard work but I’m interested in the food service for as long as I work I should be making more.
What he said is true I work for Pepsi now you have to have patience!!! But Pepsi will overload you I done had as many as 14 to 15 stops you have to have patience dealing with Walmart and Dollar general and most of your Indian convenience store.. 7:27 most of the times the Indian stores do not know how or understand how to count the product !!!! he is hundred percent correct 💯
What happens its been 14 hours and your still not done because they purposely over loaded you ? Do you just drive back to the warehouse or do you need to finish route ?
I’ll keep my options open. I’ll apply to GFS in Atlanta, preferably regional. And I’ll also apply to Sygma. I’m still going to apply to Pepsi and Dr. Pepper.
I work for Pepsi, went from merchandising to getting paid CDL training and becoming a driver, our plant is a little different from others cus we’re teamsters unionized, with that being said yes, there are days where you need lots of patience cus you’ll find your stuck behind drivers. Day normally range from 10-14 hours, but we get paid overtime and our hourly tops out at $40.50 per hour. I love the pay and my management team generally doesn’t complain so long as we return with an empty truck. My yearly since driving has always hit 115k my best year was 127k. I love working for Pepsi some days can be more physical than others but it’s the job
@@iMars23 if you want a change in career that doesn’t require much other than a few weeks of learning and maintaining a good driving record get the CDL man, you’ll never not be in demand and will always find work. Just prepare for long hours whereever you go lol
Ant u hit it on the head. I work at 7 up in Redford Michigan n let me tell u it really sucks I been working there for about 3 months and I really got to the point that I hate it lol fr tho. Merchandising really sucks I don’t get paid to merchandise I get paid by the cases I deliver starting off pay is low I get $.57 a case. Sometimes I might have 300 cases some days I might have 500 cases you get $64 a day on top of your cases, yes I hate it. I just got a offer letter from Mark core. I’m hoping that goes good cause I’m definitely ready to get out of there.😢
Whatz up ant ! Coke over here in Fresno CA is all drop n go and been like this since COVID. We rolling 5 days mon- Friday 5am start times, 8hr shifts w some OT N weekends off. U get busy on breaking these pallets down but u don’t Merch so it’s pretty sweet !
What up bro! Sounds like y’all got it made compared to other parts of the country. It’s definitely not like that in Florida. Stay safe out there my guy!
I currently work for Coke. I will say it definitely is a GREAT starting job to get your CDL however as soon as you get "Established" everyone wants to move on to something better. The labor here can definitely be a toll on you as well.
I work for coke but plan on leaving in 2 weeks for a hazmat gig. A lot more money but coke wasn’t bad but check was a pain and can’t be afraid to work. I just don’t like the case commission and day rate.
Don’t do it don’t do it lol. I did coke for 8 months. I was a garbage man for 3 years I’ll rather go back to that. The obstacle courses you go thru to get into a cooler is crazy!! I don’t even go to gas station for anything out the cooler. Give me pest vibes😅
Yeah man, some of those coolers are a pain to maneuver around. I remember one cooler I used to have to turn sideways just to walk down to my section. I had to use the customer’s skinny hand truck to bring in product. 🤦🏾♂️
I went from side loaders (beer) to pepsi and i gotta say. I love the pepsi side. Yes the checking in does get annoying but i’d much rather do that than taking kegs down steps into a shitty basement
Took in everything u said and then when you said keep a printer charged and rolls that’s like the cherry on top 🙅♂️lol all that’s just doing too much that’s not why anybody gets a CDL

How would you go about finding out who’s hiring? I’ve been looking for jobs and I have yet to find an ad from a beer distributor
That’s crazy bc here in Louisiana there’s like no money in beer and it’s all the soda companies
How much you bring home every week driving for a beer company???
