Wooting 80HE Stock Sound Test (Lekker V2 60g)

  • The new Wooting 80HE builds upon the legacy of its predecessor in nearly every way but nowhere is that more apparent than the stock typing experience. Gone are the rattly stabs and those scratchy Lekker V1s, in comes solid PCB-mount stabs and a much improved Lekker V2 that sounds thocky out the box.
Combine that with the gasket-mount design, a soft polycarbonate plate and ample foam inside, and you get a low-pitched, almost muted sound that feels very dampened. That is partly due to the lack of a traditional bottom-out in these switches but regardless, the stock sound is enjoyable.

Sounds pretty awful, but then again, I’m accustomed to using fully custom built keyboards.

yes it's not good by custom standards but it's really good for a prebuilt gaming keyboard

@@sainteagle4426 Sounds great, would you say the rgb is relatively bright compared to other boards?

@@randominternetuser72 yes, the Wootility software has so many unique and intuitive options for lighting that that alone makes it worth it. You can set up various RGB layers so that 3 different effects can be working at the same time on top of each other. It looks really nice and the LED Bar on the side can even be used for things like RAM monitoring in the future.
I have a full written review on this board if you wanna check it out: tech4gamers.com/wooting-80he-review

@@sainteagle4426 could you possibly do a whole video showcasing the rgb? no other reviewers ive watched have paid it much attention.

well I was about to send it back but I guess I'll keep it for a couple more days now 😅 Expect a video soon!
P.S. The RGB implementation on the 80HE, apart from the new LED bar, should be the same as the 60HE but I'll confirm that in my testing just in case

IMO the only objectively bad part is the spacebar. The switches aren't bad but has some room for improvement, but I also definitely don't hear the spring chatter that I've heard some complain about. I think if anything the only thing that would help a ton is replacement keycaps but the board doesn't really need much modification in its plastic config unless you wanna have a deeper thock to it which imo it doesn't need.
