Even as a little girl when I first saw this cartoon the entire episode, my sisters and I laughed till we cried. If you ever feel sad, blue or let down. This cartoon classic will lift you as nothing can. It still makes me laugh out loud!!
When my father was alive, this was part of our tradition for Father's Day. We still keep the tradition alive in his honor. Thanks Chuck Jones and company for the many laughs!
I remember these Bear cartoons. The Dad was always mad at Junior for anything, just beatin his ass for any ol reason! The stuff we watched as children was insane and priceless! Miss those days!
The final installment of the 3 bears couldn't have ended any other way. This was the funniest of them all and it symbolizes each of the bears' personalities perfectly.
Who do we love these skies above is Father, father Who's the bravest of the brave Father, father Who's the one who fills our lives completely And ever sweetly will remain Let's give a cheer for father Let's make his life a joy I'll be his loving wifey And I'll be his darling boy (Duh) Let's all look up to father Worship him near and far He never is a bother Pa! Pa! Pa!!!!
1:02-1:33 OH THIS IS ALL SO FUNNY!! Seeing Mama Bear dance all goofy and then Papa Bear making that face and starts tripping out was hilarious and the best EVER!!!!
1:05- animated by Ken Harris, of whom Chuck Jones said this was "the finest piece of animation he ever did". Mike Maltese was the model, as Jones said "he really could dance that way".
Every year I call my brother to say It’s Father’s Day Henry!! (Not his name)this year he’s in heaven. I’ll keep watching till it’s my turn. We loved it as kids and Mama’s dancing such a classic!
Henry's eye turning from yellow to blue and bloodshot, trying to contain himself through the skit before his head explodes...fucking EPIC. "MY PAAAAAAAA!!!!"
They actually did 5 cartoons: Bugs Bunny and the Three Bears (1944) What’s Brewin’ Bruin? (1948) The Bee-Deviled Bruin (1949) Bear Feat (1949) A Bear for Punishment (1951)
I wish you (or someone) could post the entire 7-minute cartoon! I always regretted when the 3 Bears were dropped from the TV show because they were "too violent".
Oh, who's your best friend? It's father! Cause father is your best friend And who's your best friend, to the very end? Nobody else but Pa! / He is the only friend bestest Nor south and east and westest / Who is your best friend? Father! 'Cause father is all right / Morning, noon, and night / Pa! Pa! Pa!
This has always been my favorite cartoon, whenever I see this cartoon it makes me laugh like a loon, My grandchildren watches me laughing like crazy rather than watching the cartoon. Thanks for the posting.
Skullgrin140 And what's even worse is that virtually NOBODY even recognized he died yesterday and it still makes me mad. If it were Taylor Swift, people would still be a-rage. Stan? One of the greatest voice actors (and comedians) to have ever lived next to Mel Blanc? Not a whisper beyond those who follow animation. Such a damn pity. RIP Stan Freberg, indeed. (Sorry for ranting, I needed some steam off my chest :s)
***** Stan Freberg died? I didn't hear about this! RIP Mr Jinks. I've gotta see if his version of The Banana Boat song is posted here, it's been too long since I last heard it.
D Lee Yes, sadly. He died on Tuesday at the age of 88 from pneumonia. Also the link to the song you are looking for :) :th-cam.com/video/_-TApnxnCTY/w-d-xo.html
+fanny3211 The DVD for the Beany & Cecil cartoons, he talks for over an hour about making the Time for Beany puppet shows. It's a rare & expensive DVD but if you like Stan Freberg, you gotta hear it.
When Mama Bear and Baby Bear fire off their guns it’s like “Ehhh…maybe giving Baby Bear a gun isn’t such a smart idea. He’s a little too, let’s say, enthusiastic “
Am I the only one who thinks Junior bear is delusional? Because someone who beats his own child can’t be capable of comforting them or saving them from a boogy man, and he looks absolutely scared at 0:16
My theory is, Henry used to be a decent father, and maybe even still is sometimes, but Junior being so destructive and slow finally got the best of him and he snapped..... HOWEVER Henry might occasionally be a good father off screen, Henry does appear in some of the more modern day cartoons and he's not being abusive. In the Looney Tunes movie, Henry is seen walking around Paris with Junior laughing and having a good time, so who knows....
I wish I could find this episode! This to me was the funniest cartoon I had ever watched! I tear up laughing every time! The gunpowder in pa's pipe, the football beehive, and this clip here with the play does it to me everytime! Thanks for posting this! A classic I wish i owned!
@@davidmunson1154 That's right, though Mel Blanc only voiced Papa Bear in the first Three Bears cartoon (the one with Bugs Bunny) and provided a scream for the character in one of the later cartoons. In all the other classic Three Bears shorts, including this one, Papa Bear was voiced by Billy Bletcher, who was most famous for being the original voice of Disney's Pete and Big Bad Wolf as well as Spike the Bulldog from Tom & Jerry.
Warner Brothers, or whomever owns the rights, need to release a 2 disc showing all 5 Bear Cartoons completely uncut, restored, remastered etc etc. Then archival footage discussing each Bear, what was their genesis, etc etc. I’d buy it
To think (yes, good ol' Charles M. Jones has confirmed this) that Henry Bear WAS BASED ON HIS OWN FATHER. As funny as his cartoons were in general, to turn what seems to be family near-tragedy into some of THE MOST HILARIOUS work he EVER did for Warner Brothers must have been SOME kind of catharsis. BTW, this also might explain the near-pathological violence (again, very funny) in the Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote (, Genius) animated classics Chuck did (usually with the equally brilliant Michael Maltese)...
Well, at any rate, he can't question his family's loyalty.
Probably he wouldn’t
Nor its stupidity.
The animation on Mamma Bears dance sequence is actually really good.
That was animated by Ken Harris, and according to Chuck Jones, it was inspired by writer Mike Maltese, "who could really dance that way".
Chuck Jones worked with some great animators during his time at Warner Bros. Animation!
Baby, she was swinging it!!! 😂😂😂😂
Even as a little girl when I first saw this cartoon the entire episode, my sisters and I laughed till we cried. If you ever feel sad, blue or let down. This cartoon classic will lift you as nothing can. It still makes me laugh out loud!!

Mama Bear's got the moves
You're right! My computer screen couldn't catch up with her legs! LOL
@@NileKelly for real and neither could mine
@user-mm7xr8if1u hahaha yeah mine either
@@NileKelly for real and mine neither
Ken Harris animated that dance basing it on writer Mike Maltese, who, according to him, actually danced like that!
1:46 this is one of the funniest cartoon expressions i've ever seen. He's so nauseated but at the same time he's so dead inside
0:56 I love that blank look for a moment when he can't remember what the poem is about. lol.
I remember these Bear cartoons. The Dad was always mad at Junior for anything, just beatin his ass for any ol reason! The stuff we watched as children was insane and priceless! Miss those days!
culinary97 he didn't beat his ass for no reason, Juniors idiocy would put his father In Harm's Way
"But, Henry--" "I know, I know--Father's Day!"
Lol
Lol
I'm getting the idea that Henry just wants his family to leave him alone for once in his life.
The funniest part of this episode was when Jr filled papa's favorite pipe with gun powder, thinking it was tobacco.
Chuck Jones' characters had some HI-LAR-I-OUS facial expressions!!!
I legit can’t stop laughing at Papa bear facial Expression
The world would have been a much sadder place without Chuck Jones.
The final installment of the 3 bears couldn't have ended any other way. This was the funniest of them all and it symbolizes each of the bears' personalities perfectly.

Stan was such a great performer...may he rest in peace.😊😊
The obligatory "Duh!' at 2:02 never ever fails to crack me up no matter how many times I watch this segment.
You too huh?? XD
DUH! rules.
2:02
Those DUHS are always well placed and HILARIOUS!!!...🤣🤣🤣

1:08 the bear is like “please kill me!”
At least Henry had a look that kinda said "Let the boy do his poem and get it over with!"😊😊
Me, as Henry: Silly, sure, but the kid's heart's in the right place
Every year I call my brother to say It’s Father’s Day Henry!! (Not his name)this year he’s in heaven. I’ll keep watching till it’s my turn. We loved it as kids and Mama’s dancing such a classic!

I liked how the mother bears expression never changes! 😁
Chuck Jones did some great 'oaf' characters and Junyer is the oafiest!
Chuck Jones was ahead of his animation time!
2:03 - one of THEE funniest moments I've seen in any classic cartoon...!
G-U-N-P-O-W-D-E-R...duh, tobacco!
Duh, I'm a good speller, I am! C-A-T, dog! B-A-T, duh, Rhode Island!
Mary Schwa that had me in tears
The three bears are the best without goldilocks
Oh definitely
Henry's eye turning from yellow to blue and bloodshot, trying to contain himself through the skit before his head explodes...fucking EPIC. "MY PAAAAAAAA!!!!"
1:24-1:33 Hahahaha!! The way Papa Bear was trippin' afterward is so funny and hilarious
Here in Brazil we love this episode! Unfortunatelly is not permitted to broadcast by youtube! We miss it so much!
I am amazed that "The Three Bears" only did three cartoons. They were classic!
They actually did 5 cartoons:
Bugs Bunny and the Three Bears (1944)
What’s Brewin’ Bruin? (1948)
The Bee-Deviled Bruin (1949)
Bear Feat (1949)
A Bear for Punishment (1951)
Well, at least Henry was finally put in his place and was completely restrained from his volatile behavior.
2:00 _" . . . and I'll be his daring boy! Duuuh!"_
lol
I wish you (or someone) could post the entire 7-minute cartoon! I always regretted when the 3 Bears were dropped from the TV show because they were "too violent".
What? They were dropped from the TV show? I own about two episodes with them on VHS!
@Connor Morris
Chuck Jones recently drew a model sheet of Yosemite Sam.

2:23 founding fathers day
Henry reminds me my dad, very short on patience with stupidity.
Sorry 😮😊😂
As every father should be, otherwise we get Freddy Got Fingered.
"But Henry, it's Father's Day."

these three were always my fav's. Jr., lmao!

When Papa Bear is angry like this so much makes me believe why he remains short and he's taking years out of his life by doing so
Junior beat aged 7 1/2 and still wearing a diaper 😂
Pa is alright now, Ma!
*Pa resumes abusing Jr.*
Y is he like that
2:23 founding father, get it?
I laughed so hard at this episode as a kid XD

he thinks he's small, what do you think?
I've always loved Ma Bear doing the ol' "Buck and Wing" dance routine! Hysterical! :0
Mama bears animation is really good for hand drawn!!!!!
I wonder if Chuck Jones realized that he was the first to milk comedy out a dysfunctional family.

The short's name is "A Bear for Punishment", released on 1951. It is readily available on Dailymotion.
Hope this helped!
I could show this to my grandpa on his birthday.
Happy Father's Day, Pa

I love how the book says PA
His face is basically the entire episode, but the show is in front of him, of course.
HAPPY FATHER,S DAY TO ALL THE DADS!
carolina girl Duh!😁
😛
carolina girl My kids used to sing this to me on Fathers Day including the word “duh” 🤣 Cracked me up. ROFL
kids are really a joy at times! hope your day was a great one. :-)
This is like the best episode ever with the three bears
1:05 Shirley Temple of the bears.
1:08 LMFAO! 😂
The Mother Bear runs really fast 0:05
Happy Father’s-er-Pa’s Day!
It is funny, but I wish my family was half as enthusiastic on father's day for me.
A tribute any father would love!

Thank you ever so much for posting this!
He is funny and always getting in a mess on each show
Omg roflmao 😅😂🤣🐻🐻🐻
She doesn't have to, she figures Junyer is doing more than a good enough job.
The Greatest Looney Toons Cartoon. Bar none.
Ah, good ol Chuck Jones, one of the greatest animation directors.
MYYY PAAA!!!!!🤣🤣🤣
At 1:45, the expression on his face is killing me. He barely contains his rage.
Timeless, priceless, wet pants guaranteed!!!
"but hank! what will the subscribers think?!"
The 3 bears were special guest on Tiny Toons Adventures.

Wait.....at seven and a half years old, junior is still in a diaper?
I loved this cartoon
Amazing cartoon!!
