      From dead hangs you can advance to pull ups, I am trying hard, 66 year old woman.....

      @jedlimen123 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @A.Romanowski.. There are ways to assist getting to pull-ups such as bands, you can find TH-cams on this. Also, there is a supplement called creatine. Maybe you know it, good for muscle & brain. It increases ‘explosive’ power. Generally safe, I am not a Dr., check with your Dr. before trying it. I find Hcl version best. Health & happiness to you.

    I do some exercises then hang in my inversion table, not completely upside down, but at the 5 o'clock position for about 10 minutes. I believe that the increased blood flow thru the brain for 10 minutes can help prevent dementia. You don't want strong cranial pressure, just moderate. Also, this increases cerebrospinal fluid flow around the base of your brain, and I also rotate my neck in a figure eight while I'm hanging to help circulate everything around in my head. It's a mild pressure and I think it's healthy to do this a few times each week. I feel real good after I get off the inversion table. Plus, I can feel the pull on my knees and lower back when I hang so I think that helps my joints too. I'm 63 years old and can still run, bike, and swim. Best of luck!

    I fixed my nerve impingement this way, I had terrible shoulder pain 24/7. Gradual hanging until I could lift my feet off the ground took about 4 or 5 days.After a week the pain was less, after 2 weeks 50% better and no pain after about 6 weeks. 15 minutes a day, hang/rest once a day and you get better without taking any pills.

    I’m a 74 year old female….I have a bar attached to a ceiling beam in my basement exercise area….I’ve been dead weight hanging for years…..I have no back aches, no pain, I remain flexible…..I have noticed my grip strength isn’t what it was….but, still sufficient…..any other suggestions to improve grip strength? Thanks for sharing your expertise with viewers….

    • @MaxDooDat2
      @MaxDooDat2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Use small barbells for extra grip strength. Hold them down by your sides with fingers curled. Then straighten your fingers so the barbell moves downward until you're close to dropping it. Then curl your fingers to lift it back up. Start with 5 lb weights; one set of reps each day to exhaustion. Then graduate slowly over time to 3 sets per day. Then later graduate to using 10 lb weights. But only do one set at first with 10 lbs and other 2 sets still with 5 lbs. Progress slowly so you don't over strain any muscles or tendons.

      Try filling an empty protein cannister or the like with rice. Plunge you hand in and squeeze the rice through for 20-50 reps...repeat a few sets. THEN put your hand in and OPEN against the resistance to work those muscles which get little use during regular activities. Pretty soothing for arthritic hands.

    I’ve been doing dead hangs for years. Love them. Absolutely great for shoulders and spine. If you haven’t read Dr John Kirsch’s book, Shoulder Pain? The Solution & Prevention, it’s a good place to start. I put a pull up bar on my bathroom door and hang from it when I go in and out of the bathroom.

    I have an impinged shoulder so I can't do this backward hang but I've recently started doing the forward one. I can't even lift my feet from the floor but still get a major stretch putting my fingertips over the door frame (I'm 5'6") and relax my knees. It's helping take the tightness out of my shoulders - hopefully eventually I can do the real deal :)
