19:00 The opponent was not able to turn his haven into a creature. He needs 3 snow covered lands. Made this mistake multiple times too. Best wishes from Germany :D
if you use full control and have multiple unleash furies and showdown is on second and third chapters, you can put them all on the stack after each trigger from skald if you need that extra power
Hey CGB, just wanted to point out a cool way to use this deck that I think you might be missing. When you have goldspan out, you can target it with usher to safety, gain a mana, target it with giant killer, and with those triggers on the stack give it pro white to get some additional counters for lethal. Some cool spots for that like 45:04. This deck packs a heck of a punch in some unusual ways
one of my favorite games with this deck is showdown of the skalds getting a goat from clackbridge troll to 10/11 and killing them with the goat they gave me
Sometimes I forget to look at the names when I'm in a groove. The 2nd time I played CGB, I didn't notice until I saw it in the tracker later. BTW, I won...again. Luck. The fine shuffler hates him more than it hates me apparently.
I could be wrong, but I _think_ the "shuffler" actually is a little rigged, and determines the amount of lands you draw based on the ratio of lands in your deck (unlike RL amirite? :p), and I don't know if it considers the DFC's in that evaluation. I'd like to actually know all the details of that. It'd be interesting.
You're not wrong. When I play mono red with 11 lands and almost always have 1 - 2 lands in my opening. wotc confirmed that it does 2 draws and takes the 'best' of each, but I feel like there's more going on.
little thing i noticed at 12:00. He could have played usher to safety using white mana and returning one white pathway to his hand only to then play it again, thus adding one more counter and keeping the third shepherd
Nice deck! My Budget One Punch Dragon deck has been helping me climb the ladder to Diamond. I’ve had a swing for 56, and I could have flung it for another 28 damage. Deck 2 Crash Through 4 Fling 4 Raking Claws 4 Rimrock Knight 4 Run Amok 4 Unleash Fury 2 Bonecrusher Giant 4 Seize the Spoils 4 Goldspan Dragon 24 Mountain 4 Thrill of Possibility
Just me or has CGB gotten goofier and more funny the last week or so? Definitely seems more animated at least to me and I am enjoying it a lot more. I've only been watching for about two months though.
Lots of content here on TH-cam lately, love it bro, over a year I have watched at least one full CGB video EVERY day on youtube. Proud Cool Club Kids member...
At the 12 min mark, you could have gotten an extra +1 counter on your token, and gotten an extra shepherd into exile, while still bouncing skald, and killing the kroxa. You could have bounced the plains, then replayed it for a fresh white mana, effectively cantripping one shepherd, before playing the second to bounce the skalds, and then using your final white to use the giant killer. Still loved the games, and I hope your day is going super well!
@CGB - You are missing out on damage with your Unleash Furies. This is how to get it. Go full control Cast Unleash Fury Resolve the +1/+1 Cast second Unleash Fury Resolve the stack Now you get a 24 power dragon instead of 22.
Interesting line at 12min. Use Shepherd to Bounce your land back to hand, then replay it since you didn't play land that turn it had no cost, it also gave you the third white mana you were missing.
The first game shows the potential of the deck to keep the gas: "cycling" your own Showdown with Sheperd is awesome and boosts small creatures. Really cool deck
I've been playing this deck with an Embercleave. I don't know if it's better on average, but it helped me win a few times even when the dragon gets killed. The Embercleave combines very well with Unleash Fury.
100% could have done it. He had 2 white mana open and a treasure that could tap for 2 red mana. 1 white mana to pick up the Kazuul's Cliffs, and then the 2 red mana and 1 white mana to cast Kazuul's Fury to fling the dragon at the opponent's face. CGB talked about this exact move in the intro too, so I am guessing he saw the play when he was reviewing the footage?
I've decided to stop mulliganing no matter what for a while. I've won a surprising amount of games with terrible starting hands including my Grixis rogues deck starting off with 3 Zerith Sans and a Robber of the Rich (without the red mana). Proceeded to topdeck the red mana on turn 2, swipe cultivate and cast on turn 3, then tilted them into oblivion with a Rankle on turn 4. XD Also I'm 90% certain that MDFC lands confuse the shuffler and stuffing your deck with them will always result in drawing less lands than you should.
I tried this deck out for giggles. I have never been so color-screwed so many games in a row. The shuffler is fine. 28 lands, but only 2 colors allowed.
I have a feeling this combo is going to be much worse when the adventure shell rotates. The adventure shell makes the deck very resilient and consistent, giving it card draw, removal, and creatures that trade super well - all in a convenient 2 for 1 form. Currently if you don't draw your combo, you're still playing an objectively good deck. Post rotation, if you're missing your combo...I'm not sure what other shell is good enough to keep you afloat.
That turn on game 2 with the bonecrusher and 1/1 against Haven they didn't have the snow mana to power up Haven as a blocker. Haven was the 3rd snow mana.
I lost to this deck bc my opponent had 3 copies for their second dragon. Shuffler is fine. Also I have that problem too were some of CGBs decks just don't work for me even though they worked fine in the video bc I draw really bad most of the time.
Maybe I don't understand the card, but at 15:44, couldn't op have blocked with the predator, than tapped to get it indestructible, since it's also a read card and not just black.
Been playing this deck a lot the past few weeks. It's terrible against Tergrid / control decks which are super common in the meta right now. That's why I stopped playing it. Working some gem razers/Mystic Repeal/some type of exile card could to deal with that could work, but then you're on a slippery slope back to normal Naya Adventure. I guess that's all to say I think this deck is better in BO3 scenarios, but man if you get a good hand and you're not dealing with Raktos / Tergrid control BS it's so good!
Has anyone ever played against a Yorion deck that *didn't* have 2 bindings in their opening hand? Because I never have. 80 card decks are the most consistent in the game as far as I can tell.
Immersturm Predator is black among its other colours. CGB's dragon gained Protection from black. It means, among other things, that black creatures cannot block it.
Everybody in ranked and partly outside of ranked is now playing CGBs ultimatums and control decks. Everybody suddenly turned pro because they now have a counter against mono white / red. Gets quite annoying when you face off against the very same deck with continous removals and sky noodles...Ranked has truly become one sided.

Not surprising. When you play several games every day this is just normal.
Sometimes I forget to look at the names when I'm in a groove.

Post game "raps" > post game "wraps." Also, it was good to see this deck in BO1 after it was so well represented in the February Kaldheim league.
At the 12 min mark, you could have gotten an extra +1 counter on your token, and gotten an extra shepherd into exile, while still bouncing skald, and killing the kroxa. @CGB - You are missing out on damage with your Unleash Furies. This is how to get it.
Go full control
Cast Unleash Fury
Resolve the +1/+1

Hey CGB, I was the opponent in the first match. Did not expect a protected 26/7 goldspan out of the blue.... Good Game :)

Cant wait for that post-game rap to be an official part of CGB's routine! 🤣
19:14 They actually didn't have enough snow mana to power up the Haven without tapping the Haven, so blocking with it wasn't an option.
Makes me happy seeing you happy playing Naya
This is my favorite CGB video since Gruul Aggro.

probably not. This deck has been around for a bit. It was played a bunch during the February Kaldheim competitive event (e.g. by Nummy/Kenji)
