I appreciate your videos on this, dealing with new vehicles and minor scratches. I have got a new red metallic truck, and just a couple real minor imperfections in one area and have been trying to figure out how to lightly and gently remove or lessen them. Really don't know what polish to use for hand application. So many products out there, these companies could explain their products better. Thanks for the details you give.
This information is gold!! To have an inside edge on the latest products and techniques coming on to the market is invaluable. You would be hard pressed to find this anywhere.👍
Thank you, Professor. I have confidence through your tutelage that I can safely approach these thin coatings. It is sad though that owners of these new thin coat vehicles will have challenges making their paint last as long as they own the car.
As Always Brian! Today's paint is a challenge? I never thought the car manufactures would get this cheap? Thanks for another great video of your knowledge and experience! Happy New Year! Belated of course!
Another good one Brian. I just did my yearly polish on my 2018 F150 with 3d One and a Microfiber finishing pad. Came out great, and then recoated with TLC v2. I was hopiing you would have done you black ice review before it was time for my polish because I don't want to buy it until you review it. I have to say though, the new turtle wax stuff is making me think the more expensive stuff isn't worth it. I have used their seal and shine topped with their spray wax, but tlc2 seems to self clean better.
Thanks for the paint history Brian. This video is consistent with one of your prior videos I used about a year ago to remove "love marks" on my black 2018 F150 with the least amount of aggressiveness. 3D One with a yellow hex-logic worked for 95% of the paint with a couple spots where I used 3D One and a Urofibre. Didn't need to go with a finish polish and got a lot of comments on how shinny my black beauty was. About time to do it again due to several 4 wheeling trips. Still need to decide what protection to use this time since I wasn't real happy with my choice last time (wasn't one of the products you tested). Can't wait to see some of your follow up videos on vehicles you protected and that have comeback after several months.

The paint quality on new vehicles is getting worse every year. My new Grand Cherokee's paint job is garbage and don't even get me started on dust nibs.
Same. Just got the 2021 escalade esv to replace our 2003 Yukon XL Denali. Original paint and clear and I didn't bother protecting it until 2 years ago but it's still very glossy and perfect. Zero clear or paint failure. Was outdoored. Never in a garage and has 304k. Never polished just waxed a little. the metallic silver is such a resiliant color in terms of hiding damage and swirls. The paint on the new escalade sucks ass. So much orange peel on the black paint it's gross. The old silver Yukon has perfect paint.

Love your content! Any tips on how to know for sure which vehicles have a softer and/or water based clear coat? Just based on the year? Or is it just testing it out as you approach the vehicle, as I do with most?
The problem is not to correct the paint to look well, the problem is to physically protect it, to avoid to correct it again soon. I think that should be the path of the future sealants.
Hi boss. Thank you for the content. I see what happens with me when working with a bmw m3 e92 black. I always get micro marring after I cleared up defects and wipe off with new micro fibre cloth. Any advice. These micro fibres I used with many vehicles and no micro marring.
Just looking for suggestions on protection for two vehicles. I figure I will use the 3D one one for correction but after that I am unsure. My dad has a 2019 F150 that he takes through the car wash once a week and obviously the clear coat is thin and takes abuse. What are the best options for protection for both of these vehicles?

as always great video and product review good friend. u think TW finishes better than 3d1?when u talked about difference in the clear coat thought water base would dry faster.
I just purchased a 2020 Ram 2500 Tradesman in white. The dealer stated that they had applied a product called permaplate. When I got home I washed and detailed the truck using Turtle Wax seal and shine. I plan to maintain the truck with turtle wax ice spray wax going forward. Wait a minute. This is great, but isn't it true that the UV protection in clear coat is basically riding on the top layers of the clear coat. I use 3D One with a Uro Fiber 50/50 and I use Xtreme Solutions Finalé and my projects are looking great, but I am concerned about taking off the protective additives of the clear coat itself, or am I being too timid?
Hello B. Are you sure new vehicules will all be thin and soft? Could they be hard and thin too ? I have a 2019 ranger wich seem to be on the hard side. Not a pro but if someone know about thoses trucks let me know ! I did a one step and could not remove so much swirls with 3d one and uro fiber and 3 passes.. paint still look better tho for sure.
I want to remove the swirl marks from my 2018 f150, luckily its white so not too visible. A friend of mine has the 3 step 3M polishes, what would be a good way togo correcting it with a rotary polisher? Thats what I have at hand and would put polyseal on top. Will then keep it maintained with it every few weeks for buildup.
To experiment... maybe put aside the 3M and buy a small bottle of Turtle Wax 1andDone. It is inexpensive and performs well. Turtle Wax is not the same product from years ago! Get that and a soft foam pad (they color code them to softness. Soft implies less aggressive). The 3M is good, but you have to match each compound with different pads + they expect you to have some training or experience. The Turtle Wax is close to perfect for beginners. Before you use the polisher, remember you have to decontaminate/clean the paint. It use to be hard, but fortunately there are easy products (again pretty cheap to pick up) to do this. Brian has a few videos on decontamination. The rotary polisher is hard on sharp edges like the top of your fenders and box. For this reason, you may want to borrow a DA (dual action) polisher from a friend. It might help you save a paint edge. Finally, once your white paint is free of swirls and ready to go, try a Turtle Wax product like Seal & Shine or their latest graphene sealer. This is the least expensive commitment to try this craft. Once you are happy, watch more of Brian's videos for equipment reviews and product reviews. Regardless, the best advice is to just try it and you will soon have a hobby that is fun and could make you money if the economy tanks and you need extra cash.
